My 10 Walt Disney World New Year’s Resolutions

Many guests who enjoy a vacation in Walt Disney World make it a resolution that they will return for another trip sometime in the near future. This is thanks to the endless fun that comes from four theme parks, two water parks, Disney Springs, and over two dozen Disney Resorts that are each filled with attractions, entertainment, dining, shopping, recreation, and more. With so many things to enjoy in Walt Disney World, guests who have visited frequently might think that they have done it all, but there are some special experiences that can be saved and used for unique New Year’s resolutions. These resolutions can cover everything from starting collections to conquering as many attractions as possible in one day and can be edited for each guest depending on what they love. Here are my ten Walt Disney World New Year’s resolutions.

10. Collect All Magic Bands

On each visit to Walt Disney World, guests are given a complimentary Magic Band to use throughout their stay. Magic Bands are rubber bracelets that can act as a guest’s room key, charge card, FastPass, and more. While there are dozens of specialized Magic Bands that feature characters and attractions, there are a core group of solid color ones that come with each vacation reservation. One resolution is to collect all of the solid color Magic Bands and wear a different one each day of the vacation!

9. Start A Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Collection

Guests who visit the Magic Kingdom can enjoy an interactive game that brings them all over the park on a scavenger hunt to help defeat Hades! Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom has guests use special cards that cast spells throughout the park to help defeat Hades and other Disney villains and keep the Magic Kingdom safe. Each card is unique and features a different spell, so a great resolution is to not only start playing the interactive game but also to collect the cards.

8. Find All The Hidden Mickeys

Hidden throughout all of Walt Disney World are hundreds of Hidden Mickeys and other Disney characters. Guests love to try and find these hidden gems and there are even multiple books published on the topic. Hidden Mickeys can be found everywhere from décor to architecture and can range from very easy to spot to extremely difficult. An ultimate resolution would be to find every known Hidden Mickey throughout Walt Disney World!

7. Four Parks In One Day

A resolution that many guests love to try and conquer is visiting all four parks in one day. This may sound simple, but the execution can be difficult when guess factor in travel time, meals, and waiting on line for certain attractions. While every day in Walt Disney World is magical, visiting all four parks is a great way to make it even more special.

6. All Magic Kingdom Attractions In One Day

The Magic Kingdom is much smaller than some of the other Disney Parks, but it is home to the most attractions. Throughout the lands that make up the park there are over thirty experiences and attractions to enjoy and an amazing resolution to try and accomplish would be to enjoy them all in a single day!

5. Eat At Victoria & Albert’s

One of the most exclusive and delicious restaurants in all of Walt Disney World can be found at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Victoria & Albert’s is an elegant restaurant that serves up amazing cuisine in a Victorian atmosphere. Guests have to follow a dress code and can enjoy a seven course meal that is sure to be nothing short of amazing.

4. Eat In Each World Showcase Pavilion

Epcot’s World Showcase is home to eleven different pavilions that each highlight a country from around the world. Each pavilion features unique architecture, attractions, entertainment, and shopping, and each location is also home to at least one quick service and one full service dining location. With so many options to choose from, a great resolution would be to dine in each country of World Showcase in a full service restaurant.

3. Meet All The Princesses

A favorite activity of many guests is meeting Disney characters, and scattered throughout the four theme parks are opportunities to meet the Disney Princesses. A great resolution would be to meet them all and some of the most popular greeting locations are the Royal Sommerhus in the Norway Pavilion where guests can meet Anna and Elsa and Ariel’s Grotto in the Magic Kingdom.

2. Enjoy Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show

Many guests love to visit Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, but many of them don’t know that there is a wonderful dinner show that is both delicious and entertaining. Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show is hosted by Auntie Wini and is an all you can eat extravaganza with cuisine inspired by the islands. While guests dine, they are entertained by hula dancers, drummers, and more making it an unforgettable night.

1. Experience All The Underrated Attractions

While Walt Disney World is home to some amazing and very popular attractions, a great resolution would be to experience all of the less popular option which tend to be considered underrated. Despite being underrated, these attractions are all wonderful and should not be missed. Some of the underrated attractions to enjoy include Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress, Living with the Land, Journey Into Imagination with Figment, Walt Disney Presents, and the Maharajah Jungle Trek.

About Caitlin Kane

Caitlin Kane first started visiting Walt Disney World when she was two years old, and despite spending most of that trip quarantined with the chicken pox she managed to fall in love with the place. Visiting WDW every year since, she especially loves learning all about the history and small details of the parks and eating/drinking her way through the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival each fall. When she's not in Disney, Caitlin lives in New York and spends her time counting down the days to her next trip.
