Walt Disney World is home to four unique theme parks that each feature amazing attractions, entertainment, shopping, dining, and more. The newest of the four theme parks is Disney’s Animal Kingdom which opened in 1998 and celebrates the beauty and diversity of nature. The summer of 2017 brought a brand new area to Disney’s Animal Kingdom that celebrates the breathtaking and adventurous movie Avatar. Pandora – The World of Avatar brings the location from the film to life with beautiful landscapes, exotic details, Na’vi culture, and interactive elements that guests love! Since the area is so new, it is immensely popular with guests who are smart to familiarize themselves with the new experiences offered before visiting. From amazing dining options to state of the art technology on thrilling new attractions, there is plenty to see when spending time in the land. 1. Floating Mountains —

Pandora – The World of Avatar is situated in the Valley of Mo’ara which is home to the Na’vi and also has been explored by the scientists from the Pandora Conservation Initiative. While the entire area is beautiful, it is the landscape itself that amazes guests. Pandora is home to floating mountains which seem to defy gravity and suspend themselves in the air. The mountains features lush vegetation, otherworldly details, and flowing waterfalls that create a wondrous and unique location.

2. Unique Plants —

The Valley of Mo’ara is also home to exotic and unique plant life that can’t be found anywhere else on planet Earth. The various forms of vegetation are brightly colored, strangely shaped, and even interactive! The Flaska Reclinata is a massive plant that guests can directly interact with by simply touching. The more guests who touch the plant, the sooner a reaction will occur!

3. Avatar Flight of Passage —

Perhaps the most popular experience in Pandora – The World of Avatar is the thrilling attraction Avatar Flight of Passage. This attraction brings guests into an incredible facility where science is used to link them directly to an Avatar. Guests then board unique and individual ride vehicles and experience a breathtaking journey soaring through the skies of Pandora on the back of a banshee. With amazing technology and gorgeous scenery, guests are sure to love Avatar Flight of Passage.

4. Na’vi River Journey —

The other attraction found in Pandora – The World of Avatar is more family friendly and brings guests into the beauty of a bioluminescent forest in Pandora. The Na’vi River Journey brings guests on a peaceful journey through some of the most beautiful locations in Pandora where many different creatures as well as the Na’vi roam. As guests get deeper down the river, they find themselves face to face with a character who is incredibly lifelike.

5. Shaman of Songs —

The culmination of the Na’vi River Journey comes when guests find themselves face to face with the Shaman of Songs, who can be found sharing her positive energy and singing a song linking her with the environment. The Shaman is one of the most technologically advanced audio-animatronics ever created by Imagineering and has so many minute movements that guests are sure to believe that she is real.

6. Swotu Waya Na’vi Drum Ceremony —

Throughout each day in Pandora – The World of Avatar there is a wonderful for of live entertainment that aims to entertain guests while sharing some of the Na’vi culture with them. The Swotu Waya Na’vi Drum Ceremony features a trio of musicians who showcase to guests a traditional Na’vi Drum Ceremony. Both interactive and very entertaining, guests should definitely take the time to enjoy this show!

7. Mossy Wall —

Pandora – The World of Avatar is filled with unique vegetation and plant life including one location that has a fairly strong social media presence. Much like the purple wall in the Magic Kingdom, Pandora has its own popular spot where guests love to pose for their own photos. The Mossy Wall can be found towards the rear of Pandora – The World of Avatar is a great location to take a selfie or snap a shot with friends and family!

8. Satu’li Canteen —

Guests who find themselves hungry in Pandora – The World of Avatar should look no further than the Satu’li Canteen. This quick service location is open daily for lunch  and dinner and offers up exotic and delicious options inspired by the beautiful and diversity of Pandora. Guests who stop for a meal can order up offerings including Cheeseburger Steamed Pods, Chopped Wood-Grilled Chicken Bowl and Blueberry Cream Cheese Mousse. Satu’li Canteen was also the birthplace of Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering which can be done easily via the My Disney Experience App.

9. Pongu Pongu —

Guests who are more interested in wonderful drink options should head next to the Satu’li Canteen to Pongu Pongu. This quick service location translates to “party party” and features delicious adult beverage options sure to cool any guest down on a hot day. Guests who stop by Pongu Pongu can enjoy offerings like the Mo’ara Margarita, Hawkes’ Grog Ale, and Mo’ara High Country Ale.

10. Windtraders —

After disembarking Avatar Flight of Passage, guests emerge inside of a wonderful store that offers many wonderful items from Pandora. Windtraders offers up everything from toys and accessories to clothing and banshees and guests can even pose to have their portrait taken and turned into an Avatar! Guests should definitely plan on spending a few minutes wandering through Windtraders and checking all the items out.

11. PhotoPass Opportunities —

Pandora – The World of Avatar is gorgeous from any angle, and luckily there are many opportunities to have photos taken by PhotoPass photographers. Guests who wander through the area are sure to spot some of the professionals with cameras just waiting to capture beautiful images of any guest in front of the floating mountains or beautiful details!

12. Bioluminescence —

While Pandora – The World of Avatar is beautiful during the daytime, once the sun sets the land takes on a whole new feel as it comes to bioluminescent life. The floating mountains take on an otherworldly glow, the pathway light up with glowing details, and the plant life comes to life with beautiful colors. All guests simply must plan on spending time in Pandora – The World of Avatar once nighttime falls to enjoy these beautiful details!
