13 Attractions You Don’t Typically Need to Waste a FastPass+ on at Walt Disney World

The FastPass+ system is amazing and can definitely save you a lot of time if you use it to your advantage.  You want to use it on attractions that will save you the greatest amount of time and ensure you get to experience your most desired attractions.  Here is our list of 13 attractions that we definitely think you don’t typically need to waste a FastPass+ on:

Animal Kingdom:

13. It’s Tough to Be a Bug!

This show located within the Tree of Life is a lot of fun, but is definitely not an attraction that you need a FastPass+ for.  There is typically not a very long wait to get in, typically just the wait until the next show starts.

12. Festival of the Lion King

I don’t typically recommend using FastPass+ options for shows.  Maybe during the extremely busy seasons it could make sense, but we typically find that shows aren’t the best use of one of your selections.  This show is amazing and one you should see, but not use a FastPass+ on.

11. UP! A Great Bird Adventure

Same rules apply here.  Definitely check out the show, but save your FastPass+ selection for one of the rides that command longer wait times.

Hollywood Studios:

10. Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular

The theater for this show is huge and as long as you get there a little bit early, you can typically get a seat and won’t need use one of your FastPass+ selections on it.

9. Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage

This show is definitely amazing, but it is located within the Category 1 offerings, so it is definitely not worth using the FastPass+ on when you could select one of the popular rides that typically always have a very long wait time.

8. MuppetVision 3D

There is not usually much of a wait at all to get into the Muppet theater.  You typically just have to wait the length of time it takes for the next show to start.  It is definitely not an attraction that you should ever need to use a FastPass+ selection on.

Epcot:

7. Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival

You can typically get right into this awesome film festival pretty easily.  I would definitely recommend saving the FastPass+ selection for some of the rides at the park instead of using it for this show.

6. Journey Into Imagination with Figment

We absolutely love this ride, but we never use a FastPass+ for it.  Many times throughout the day you can just walk right on and get on the attraction without a wait.  You can save that FastPass+ selection for something else and get more out of your day.

5. The Seas with Nemo and Friends

This is another extremely cool attraction, but doesn’t hold much of a wait time.  The attraction is constantly moving and doesn’t typically get very backed up unless it is an extremely busy day.

Magic Kingdom:

4. Mad Tea Party

The tea cup ride is iconic and one you shouldn’t miss, but you likely won’t need a FastPass+ for it.  Also remember not to get on the ride with a full stomach, or you might regret it!

3. Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor

This is a super clever and fun attraction, but you most likely won’t need a FastPass+ for it.  With so many other attractions in the park to pick from that carry longer lines, I definitely wouldn’t use the selection on this one.

2. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin

This is an attraction that operates similar to the Dumbo attraction located in Fantasyland.  It is fun for the smaller kids and gives you a nice view of Adventureland, but not one that I would spend a FastPass+ selection on.  The line can sometimes get backed up 20 to 30 minutes, but you can typically find times during the day where you won’t have much of a wait.

1. Mickey’s PhilharMagic

This is definitely a must-do attraction for our family as we absolutely love it, but you won’t need a FastPass+.  There isn’t typically much of a wait and the majority of the wait time is usually for the next show to start.  The nice thing is that even if you do end up with a little bit of a wait, a lot of the queue is inside where you can cool off and get out of the sun.

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
