Walt Disney World Resort is constantly evolving, and its dining options are no exception. Whether you’re planning your next trip or simply staying updated on the latest changes, these five updates will impact your dining experience at The Most Magical Place on Earth.
1. Ample Hills Creamery Closure at Disney’s BoardWalk
Ample Hills Creamery, the beloved Brooklyn-based ice cream shop, once had a home at Disney’s BoardWalk. However, the location closed in 2020 after the company filed for bankruptcy.
While Ample Hills is no longer part of Disney’s lineup, BoardWalk Ice Cream now occupies the space, offering guests a variety of frozen treats. Disney Parks fans looking for indulgent ice cream can still enjoy other options across Walt Disney World Resort, including Beaches & Cream Soda Shop at Disney’s Beach Club Resort and the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor at Magic Kingdom Park.
2. Early Morning Magic Remains Suspended at Magic Kingdom
Early Morning Magic was a popular event that gave guests exclusive access to select Magic Kingdom attractions before the park opened to the general public. It also included a breakfast buffet. Unfortunately, the event was suspended in 2020 and has not yet returned. There is no official word on whether it will be reinstated.
Guests looking for early entry options can take advantage of Disney’s Early Theme Park Entry, available daily to all Disney Resort hotel guests, or Extended Evening Hours for Deluxe Disney Resort guests.
3. No Official Bar Announced for The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
Rumors previously suggested that a new themed bar would open at the exit of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. However, no official announcement has been made regarding this addition.
Guests can still find themed beverages at other Hollywood Studios locations, such as Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and BaseLine Tap House.
4. Jellyrolls: The End of an Era
After nearly 30 years of entertaining guests, the Jellyrolls dueling piano bar will close its location at Disney’s BoardWalk on April 19, 2025. The bar has promised to move to another location in Orlando.
Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t announced future plans for the Jellyrolls space.
