5 Disney World Dining Changes ALL Guests Should Be Aware Of

Christy Caby

Things are changing all the time around Walt Disney World, but for the Disney foodies out there any changes to the dining offerings, options, plans, etc. is a must-see to check out and be among the guests who experience these changes!  Here are 5 Disney World changes that ALL guests should be aware of, not just the foodies since you won’t want to miss out on these:

5. New bar coming to Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

We wish it was going to be the Tip Top Club bar from the storyline for the ride, but sadly this isn’t the case.  The bar will be a smaller location in the unloading area for the attraction.  When you exit the elevators and come to the PhotoPass desk when cast members are, it will be located at the stand that is across from there in the corner.  In good news, the bar is rumored to have Tower of Terror themed drinks, so hopefully there will be some really unique options, or even better collectible cups or something of that sort for the diehard Tower of Terror fans!

4. Ample Hills Creamery will be new location at Disney’s Boardwalk.

This tasty looking ice cream location was originally founded in Brooklyn.  The ice cream is homemade, as are many of the add-ins, including gooey butter cake.  There are unique hand crafted flavors that you won’t find anywhere else!  Guests will be able to come in and taste a sample of the various flavors so that they can taste samples before they make their selection.  We have a feeling that this is going to be an AMAZING place to cool off, and it’s easily accessible from Epcot and Hollywood Studios!

3. Sprinkles Cupcakes available, and via ATM.

Sprinkles Cupcakes is coming to Disney Springs!  Sprinkles Cupcakes was the very first cupcake bakery ever at the time that it opened, which is extremely cool! They specialize in all things cupcakes, and they are delicious!  The creator of the chain is a regular judge on the Food Network show, Cupcake Wars, too.  Not only will there be a storefront to purchase the delicious treats, they are also opening the first Cupcake ATM.  If you are out and about at Disney Springs late at night and want a cupcake, you will be able to get one from the ATM, which looks pretty awesome!  The ATM will only take credit cards and no cash, so come prepared for that!

2. Early morning event at Magic Kingdom.

The Magic Kingdom has announced a couple different before/after hours events for guest to enjoy, but the morning one is particularly important to those that are interested in dining events!  The event takes place on select Tuesdays and Saturdays, and guest much purchase an event ticket as well as Magic Kingdom park admission in order to enter the event.  The event tickets alone are $69 per adult and $59 per child.  The event is from 7:45AM – 10AM and with that you get exclusive access to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan’s Flight.  You also get a full breakfast spread that is all you care to enjoy.  The spread includes items like fresh fruit, pastries, cheese and cured meats, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages, frittatas, fried potatoes, French toast and more!  It is definitely a full breakfast spread and not just a few sugary items, so it is a meal you can get full on in order to prepare for your day, if you are willing to pay the cost that is!

1. Fulton’s Crab House isn’t coming back.

That’s right, Fulton’s Crab House isn’t coming back as guests will remember it!  The restaurant is coming back as Paddlefish.  It will still be owned and operated by the same company, but will get an entirely new look, feel and menu items.  The menu will still focus on fresh seafood and will likely have a few of the classic items, but will definitely be very different than it was before.  There are many guests that will be sad about this, since it was a favorite for many, but the restaurant will likely be very tasty and the fresh makeover will look amazing!

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
