Disney World Makes Change To Extended Evening Theme Park Hours

Walt Disney World has made a significant change to its Extended Evening Theme Park Hours offering in the upcoming months.

The Extended Evening Theme Park Hours is a new perk offered to Guests staying on property at the Walt Disney World Resort. With a valid same-day park reservation or Park Hopper admission, Guests staying at qualifying hotels, such as a Disney Deluxe Resort or Disney Deluxe Villa Resort, are allowed to book extended evening hours at select theme parks for specific dates and times.

For example, qualifying hotels include resorts such as Disney’s Contemporary Resort, the Grand Floridian Resort, Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and Disney’s Beach Club Resort. Of course, this enables Guests to maximize their time while visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, as many (but not all) attractions operate during the extended period with fewer people waiting to ride.

Specifically, rides will all continue operation from 9:30 to 11;30 p.m. Luckily, Disney Parks recently confirmed this perk will continue throughout the 2023 calendar year even as the 50th Anniversary celebration ends in March.

What’s more, the current extended evening offering during nights for EPCOT Park will also grant Guests an additional opportunity to join the virtual queue for the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction at 6:00 p.m. All in all, it genuinely seems like a great deal for parties who enjoy the magic of a Disney touch during their stay and want to make the most out of their vacations.

However, Disney recently made some changes to the established system, as reflected on the Walt Disney World website. In fact, Disney Parks seems to have shifted the dates for two extended evening hours at Magic Kingdom Park this February. Typically, the initial date for the theme park fell on a Wednesday, though now the schedule reflects a Tuesday extended entry for both February 7 and February 21.

So far, this seems to be the only change, and hopefully, with the advance notice, many Guests won’t have to shift their travel plans too terribly.  To view a full list of participating Disney Resort Hotels, the current schedule for Extended Hours, and a list of available attractions by theme park, click here.
