5 Reasons We Absolutely Love Walt Disney World Fireworks

Walt Disney World is one of the most magical vacation destinations in the world with something to entertain everyone. With four theme parks, Disney Springs shopping area, two water parks, and lots of resorts, there are endless ways to have fun on a Disney vacation. Once the sun sets, the Disney Parks become even more magical with spectacular displays that light up the night sky. Every guest loves watching fireworks, and Walt Disney World puts on some beautiful shows. Here are five reasons why guests absolutely love Walt Disney World fireworks.

5. Happily Ever After –

No park is as magical as the Magic Kingdom where guests can experience attractions and entertainment in the Wild West of Frontierland, outer space in Tomorrowland, and a world of fantasy and make believe in Fantasyland. Fireworks have always been the perfect way to wrap up a day at Magic Kingdom! Happily Ever After Fireworks has replaced Wishes, but has thankfully lived up to the beautiful display of fireworks, lasers, projection, music, and storytelling Magic Kingdom is known for. With 18-minutes of “heart, heroism, and humor”, Happily Ever After will send you on your way with your own “happily ever after” ending to an unforgettable Magic Kingdom day!

4. Illuminations: Reflections of Earth –

Note: Illuminations final showing will be September 30, 2019. October 1 will begin the new nighttime show titled “Epcot Forever”. This is a temporary nighttime spectacular as we wait the arrival of the permanent show.

Epcot is a favorite park of many guests as it combines the technology of Future World with the culture of World Showcase. Guests could spend whole days wandering through the eleven different pavilions of World Showcase exploring countries like France and China and enjoying their culture, cuisine, architecture, and history. World Showcase is nestled around World Showcase Lagoon which comes to life each night with Illuminations: Reflections of Earth. This nightly show gathers guests around the fire to demonstrate how they are all united as one. The show combines laser lights, pyrotechnics, dancing water, fireworks, and beautiful music for a show that simply can’t be missed. Illuminations: Reflections of Earth is a fireworks extravaganza that guests have to see at least once on a Walt Disney World vacation.

3. Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular –

It doesn’t matter if you are a Star Wars nerd or not – Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular is the perfect way to close out a night at Hollywood Studios! Watch as the Chinese Theater turns into a huge screen for a 14-minute show full of high-definition projection surrounded by lasers, fire, incredible music and sound effects, and of course – the sky lights up with awesome fireworks! It’s an unforgettable Hollywood Studios moment.

2. Halloween Fireworks @ Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party –

On select nights in the fall months, the Magic Kingdom is decked out in its autumn finest and plays host to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Requiring an additional ticket to attend, the party allows guests the chance to trick or treat in the park, meet some of their favorite characters in their costumes, and enjoy exclusive parades and fireworks. The highlight of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is Halloween Fireworks where the park is taken over by villains and the sky above Cinderella Castle is lit up for a spooky celebration! The Halloween fireworks combine beautiful fireworks, classic Disney villains, and familiar Disney music for an amazing show.

1. Christmas Fireworks @ Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party  –

Like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, the Magic Kingdom celebrates Christmas with a spectacular celebration like only Mickey could host. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party occurs on select nights in the park and celebrates the cheer of the Christmas season with the Castle Dream Lights which make Cinderella Castle look draped in glowing icicles, an exclusive parade, dance parties, special character meet and greets, and hot chocolate and cookie stations. The highlight of the party for many guests is Holiday Fireworks which lights up the sky high over Cinderella Castle with beautiful fireworks set to holiday music. When visiting Walt Disney World during the holiday season, there is no better way to celebrate than by attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and watching holiday fireworks!

About Caitlin Kane

Caitlin Kane first started visiting Walt Disney World when she was two years old, and despite spending most of that trip quarantined with the chicken pox she managed to fall in love with the place. Visiting WDW every year since, she especially loves learning all about the history and small details of the parks and eating/drinking her way through the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival each fall. When she's not in Disney, Caitlin lives in New York and spends her time counting down the days to her next trip.
