Rose and Crown Pub

My family consists of a group of Disney foodies. We LOVE dining at Disney World and get as excited for the planning of the meals and restaurants as we do for FastPasses and other events while we are on property. We have our favorites, and then also like to add in a new experiences, too, which is easy to do since there are so many! Here are 5 reasons why we absolutely love Walt Disney World restaurants:

5. Variety of restaurant and cuisine choices

With over 100 restaurants on property, with more in the works, there is definitely no shortage of options and unique dining experiences. There is most every type of cuisine represented on Disney property with classic offerings and some new takes on the traditional cuisine items. It would be almost impossible to not find several options that you absolutely love and meet align with your favorite meals or menu items. Since there is definitely something for everyone, you have many options for you and your family to pick from and make sure that everyone has a favorite meal. Just because you are in a theme park doesn’t mean that only burgers and hot dogs are in your future. There is so much more than that!

4. The unique and diverse menus

The Disney chefs are extremely talented and spend a lot of time and dedication creating perfect menus for each restaurant. These menus perfectly match the theme of the restaurant they are serving and strive to bring the best dining experiences to guests, while giving them something comfortable and still unlike anything they can get anywhere else. Disney is all about creating unique experiences and giving you more and more reasons to keep coming back to the parks. We love that we can try new things all the time and have definitely picked favorites across property.

3. Care and planning to meet dietary needs

It can be scary when you have to deal with food allergies or specific dietary needs for yourself or a member or your family. In some cases, these can be life or death decisions and it can be hard to put that trust in others to ensure that the proper level of care and concern is put into preparing meals that are safe for these guests to eat. Disney goes above and beyond in the planning and preparation for special diets. You are able to add many special needs to your reservation at the time of booking. There is also an email/form that you can complete before your trip to provide more detail, along with likes/dislikes. Then when you arrive at the restaurant, you can explain to the waiter and most likely the chef will come out and talk to the guest about their specific needs. It is extremely comforting to know that they put this level of care and caution in ensuring these meals are not only safe but delicious for these guests.

2. Character dining options

No matter how old we are, we love the characters. They are a huge part of the Disney experience and bringing the magic to life. There are numerous character dining opportunities on property so that you get to interact with some of your favorite characters in a comfortable setting without the long wait in lines. The characters come to you while you enjoy delicious food and an amazing atmosphere. These experiences are truly unique and special, which is why they are so popular among Disney guests.

1. The detailed theming

It is so much fun when you feel like you are transported to another place when you dine. Many of the Disney restaurants are so much more than just restaurants. They are almost perfect works of art. The level of care and detail that you see in the parks is definitely carried over to every aspect of Disney restaurants. It is no secret that you have to plan and act early in order to get into many of the popular restaurants. We build connections to these restaurants just like we do the movies and characters, which is directly related to the level of detail that Disney imagineers put into the guest experience.

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
