Walt Disney World is a massive vacation destination with four theme parks, dozens of Disney Resorts, two water parks, and Disney Springs shopping area. With so many amazing places to visit, it is no wonder that there is an extensive transportation system designed to move guests easily and efficiently. Guests who stay at a Walt Disney World Resort are treated to complimentary transportation including buses, boats, ferries, skyliners, and monorails. By far the most popular transportation system in Walt Disney World is the monorail system which whisks guests from one location to another on a highway in the sky. Disney monorails are a favorite of many guests for their ease, futuristic feel, and relaxing transport. Here are six things that Walt Disney World insiders love about the monorail.

6. The Safety Spiel –
When many guests picture the Walt Disney World monorail system, the first things that pops into their heads is the prerecorded safety spiel. While there are many popular lines and quotes from attractions are areas all over Walt Disney World, the safety spiel from the monorail is one of the most popular and many guests know it by heart. After boarding the monorail and waiting to embark on their journey, guests hear (and often recite along with!) the iconic phrase: “Please stand clear of the closing doors. Por favor, mantengase alejado de las puertas.”
5. How Easy It Is –
One of the biggest reasons that Disney insiders love the monorail system is because of how easy and convenient it is. The monorail near the Magic Kingdom features two loops- the Resort Loop and the Express Loop. The Resort Loop stops at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Transportation and Ticket Center, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, and the Magic Kingdom. The Express Loop runs directly from the Magic Kingdom to Disney’s Transportation and Ticket Center. Guests who are looking to connect to Epcot can travel to Disney’s Transportation and Ticket Center and transfer to a separate loop which runs directly to Epcot. With only three loops all operating in proximity to each other, Disney insiders love that the monorail system places them only minutes from the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and any of the Magic Kingdom area resorts.
4. The View Of Seven Seas Lagoon –
Guests who take a ride on the Resort Loop of the monorail system take to the skies on a grand loop around Seven Seas Lagoon. Because of the elevated height of the monorail’s track, guests are treated to sweeping views across the lagoon including Cinderella Castle, the Astro Orbiter, and Space Mountain rising up in the distance. Guests are also treated to glimpses into the three resorts featured on the loop including views of grounds, specific buildings filled with guest rooms, and pool areas. The views of Seven Seas Lagoon and the surrounding resorts and attractions is something that can’t be found anywhere but the Resort Loop monorail!
3. The View Of Epcot –
Like the Resort Loop, the monorail line that runs directly from Disney’s Transportation and Ticket Center to Epcot offers beautiful views of the Walt Disney World property and Epcot’s Future World. After boarding at Disney’s Transportation and Ticket Center, guests can kick back for several minutes and enjoy views of the lush and tropical vegetation and swamplands that comprise the Walt Disney World property. Before disembarking in Epcot, the monorail makes a grand loop of Future World offering glimpses of Mission: SPACE, Test Track Presented by Chevrolet, Spaceship Earth, Journey Into Imagination with Figment, The Land, and The Seas with Nemo and Friends. This aerial loop of Future World allows guests to see Epcot from a different vantage point and makes them excited for the amazing experiences that are to come once they disembark.

2. The Narration –
In addition to the safety spiel, each journey on the monorail system is narrated by a friendly voice who shares details and interesting facts about the sights and places that are passing by outside each monorail. Guests who listen to the narration are treated to information about each Disney Resort, popular happenings in the resorts and parks, and helpful tips on how to easily get from one place to the other if they need to transfer.
1. Gliding Through The Contemporary –
A moment that every Disney insider absolutely loves is riding on either the Resort Loop or the Express Loop and gliding through Disney’s Contemporary Resort on the monorail. The resort is designed so that the two monorail loops pass quietly and seamlessly through the lobby making for a futuristic detail that guests love! No trip to Walt Disney World is complete without a ride on the monorail system and gliding through Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
