6. Western theme.
The restaurant is a stunning 2 story venue with a stage at the front. There is no bad seat in the house with the multiple levels of seating. The setup is like an old western saloon, which is perfectly themed for its residence in Frontierland. The menu options tie into this theme and make you feel like you are dining in the middle of the great Wild West.

5. The nostalgia.
This restaurant used to be open to guests as a dinner show-type of experience.  Hoop Dee Doo Revue opened at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, and this restaurant closed down and then opened seasonally to mitigate dining crowd control during busy seasons.  The restaurant is a favorite by so many guests and has a beautiful stage area, so it holds a lot of nostalgia for guests.  It is also the only table-service restaurant in Frontierland since there is no longer a restaurant on Tom Sawyer island.

4. All you care to enjoy.
Regardless whether you choose to dine for lunch or dinner, the meal that is offered at the Diamond Horseshoe is also all you care to enjoy. So not only is it brought to your table family-style, it is also all you care to enjoy. You can request more of anything and everything that you want, so don’t be shy about asking for more. You may want to plan your other meals around this one so that you can come hungry and prepare to stay full for a long while!

3. Open seasonally.
This is a location that isn’t open all the time. It is a classic location that is only opened during select, peak seasons, so if you like the idea of dining at a nostalgic location, you will have to keep a sharp eye for when this location is accepting reservations for dinner. You will want to check periodically and keep an eye out on the Disney Parks Blog to see when they are announcing that reservations are open. The reservations definitely fill up fast since it is a popular location.

2. Special events.
This location is used to house special events, especially at themed parties like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. The stage makes the perfect location to put on shows and dance parties for guests to enjoy and have a place to sit and enjoy the show. Since the location isn’t open year-round it helps get great use of out the stage and building in between service seasons.

1. Delicious food.
The food is amazing!  The menu is good ‘ole American comfort, western food.  You have items like barbecue pulled pork, sausages, turkey, braised beef and delicious sides included baked beans, macaroni and cheese and more.   The quality is amazing and the meals are perfect every time. You will definitely leave full and happy from this meal!

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
