The Yachtsman Steakhouse is one of our favorite signature dining locations for many reasons. It is extremely classy and a place that you enjoy getting dressed up and enjoying for a date night, romantic evening or special occasion. Here are the 6 things that I know you will love the most about Yachtsman Steakhouse:

6. The atmosphere.

The Yachtsman Steakhouse really does make you feel like you are on board of a ritzy yacht. The nautical décor and wood trim and columns throughout the restaurant are stunning and give the restaurant such elegance and class. The high ceilings with the windows and chandelier also add to the elegance of the restaurant. This is definitely a fine dining location and another unique dining for Walt Disney World Resort that you don’t want to miss, especially for a date night. You even get to view the meat station where you can see all of the aged meats and select exactly which cut you want for your meal.

5. The view.

The views from this restaurant are absolutely stunning. The views from the windows truly transport you mentally and make you feel that you really are on the New England coast. The buildings are perfectly designed to look like New England and you get amazing views of the water. If you have the opportunity, make sure that you request a window seat. The staff will accommodate if at all possible and you will be extremely happy.

4. Signature dining experience.

This location is one of Disney’s signature dining experiences. This means that the location costs 2 dining entitlements because it is on the pricey side. Although it is on the pricey side, the menus are developed and customized by top notch chefs. The menus are signature to Disney World and something that you can’t experience anywhere else. It is worth the added cost or entitlements to be able to experience this dining location. It will definitely have you wanting to come back.

3. New England fare.

The menu is a great mix of surf and turf which is a perfect representation of all things New England. You can get lobster, scallops, shrimp, clams and then some of the most delicious aged steaks, bison and chicken. The sides are also amazing culinary delights. The Roasted Delicata Squash is my absolute favorite and I can’t get enough of it. Be sure to save room for dessert since you will definitely want to try the Chocolate-Peanut Cake, especially if you are a chocolate fan like me! If you are into fruit desserts then you won’t want to miss the Heirloom Apple Tart. My husband is a fan and can’t get enough of it. Make sure that you come to the meal hungry since you will want to enjoy every single bite of every course!

2. The dress code.

This restaurant has a dress code for you to dine there. Men are expected to wear collared shirts and pants that have no tears or holes. Women are expected to wear dress blouses and pants, skirts or dresses with no tears or holes. No swim wear, flop-flops or offensive clothing is allowed. The dress code maintains the high class atmosphere and helps you enjoy your meal even more when you feel like you and everyone around you is dressed up to have an amazing evening.

1. Porterhouse for two.

The 32-oz Porterhouse for Two is a must have for my husband and me. It is a 21 day dry-aged porter house that is cooked to perfection according to your request. It is served with a trio of steakhouse sides to share. The cost is around $119, but it is well worth it for a delicious dinner for 2. My husband and I love it because he steals more of the steak than I do, so he gets an even larger portion of a delicious steak than he would in an individual serving. Plus, it’s kind of fun to share a nice meal on date night.

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
