Yak & Yeti is a really fun and unique dining location. This one is located in “Asia” in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The outside looks like a large house, and you will definitely want to see and experience what is inside. This is another location where the theming is perfect and done to an impressive level of detail that you just have to see. Here are 6 things that I know you will love about Yak & Yeti:
6. The quick-service option
This dining location does have a quick-service option toward the side of the building. This means that can get a few of the delicious menu items that you enjoy from the sit-down location without needing a reservation or using up the time if you don’t have that much to spare. We have dined at both and the quick-service location is definitely a delicious meal option and unlike what you would expect for theme park food.
5. The upstairs seating
This location is actually two stories with seating upstairs and downstairs. Try to get the upstairs seating. I feel like it is a unique, intimate seating layout and you have amazing views of “Asia” from the 2nd floor of the resort. It puts you at a different vantage point and gives a very relaxed feeling even in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Disney World.
4. Unique dining options
The restaurant has an Asian influence and the menu is definitely geared to that cuisine. You can enjoy Ahi Tuna Nachos, Thai Chili Chicken Wings, various Lo Meins, Kalbi Steak and Coconut Shrimp, Malaysian Seafood Curry and many, many more delicious offerings. We have tried most of the items on the menu and can honestly say that we have enjoyed every single thing that we have tried. The food is absolutely amazing, and we love that we can get items that you normally don’t think of while enjoying a theme park. Be sure to save room for dessert!
3. On the Disney Dining Plan or utilize Landry’s Club
This location isn’t owned and operated by Walt Disney, but it is on the Disney Dining plan, so 1 DDP table-service credit will get you a delicious meal here. You can also purchase a Landry’s Club membership and receive their membership perks and points at this location if you are a frequent visitor of Landry’s restaurants. This can end up earning you rewards and other discounts at their locations.
2. The amazing décor and atmosphere
The theme of the restaurant is more like an Asian home that has been turned into a restaurant, which you can see from the beautiful Asian décor and heritage that is present throughout the restaurant. The lobby is stunning and full of amazing pieces and artifacts to look over while you wait to be seated. There is a shop close by that also sells gifts, clothing and merchandise that is unique to this area of the park and definitely worth a peak! You are likely to find pretty cool items that you wouldn’t expect to see.
1. Dessert!
Everyone loves a good dessert! Well let me tell ya, this place has amazing ones. The Fried Wontons are my absolute favorite at Yak & Yeti. Imagine cream cheese wontons on skewers with fresh pineapple, ice cream and a honey-vanilla sauce. They are extremely tasty and unlike most desserts that you would find anywhere else on property. My husband loves their take on the cheesecake, and the sorbet trio is also amazing. If you are a sorbet fan, the mango, lemon and raspberry flavors are all delicious and very refreshing on a hot day in the parks. You deserve a sweet treat to end the meal, so definitely indulge and dive in. It is well worth it, and you will walk off the calories later!
