7 Facts and Secrets About Walt Disney World’s Memory Maker

1) It’s cheaper to buy in advance
By purchasing Memory Maker in advance, you’ll be able to use the same service for a somewhat smaller cost. If you purchase Memory Maker at least three days before you plan on using it, the cost will be $169, however if you purchase it during your Disney vacation you’ll be paying $199—leaving the pre-purchase price with a thirty dollar savings. If you’re undecided about purchasing Memory Maker, I would suggest purchasing it in advance, as you will get a greater value out of it, and having already purchased it will motivate you to stop and take lots of PhotoPass pictures.

2) It includes all PhotoPass pictures
When you take PhotoPass pictures at any Walt Disney World Park or Resort, you can rest assured knowing that you’ll be able to download them to your phone or computer after purchasing Memory Maker. This means all of your photos in front of park icons like Cinderella Castle or the Tree of Life, along with the other various PhotoPass locations and character meet and greets around the parks will all be included.

3) Everyone can get in the picture
Instead of handing the camera or cell phone off to one member of the family, Memory Maker allows guests to take full advantage of Disney’s PhotoPass service, which gets everyone in the picture. With PhotoPass photographers located all over the parks, you’ll never have to worry about mom or dad missing out on some of the pictures.

4) Professional photos
Another perk of using Memory Maker is that you’ll be left with professional quality photos. If your other options are hand your camera off to a stranger (who likely won’t know how to use it resulting in terrible pictures) or exclude a family member, having professionally taken photos of your trip can really be a great deal. If you’re looking to scrapbook after your trip, Memory Maker will also include some stock photos from around the parks, which can be fun pieces to add to a scrapbook or photo album after your trip.

5) Ride photos are included
One Disney souvenir that I always seem to want but can never justify paying extra for is an on-ride photo. These photos can be fun memories of different parts of your trip, however the price tag of actually purchasing them would usually dissuade me from doing so. Thankfully, if you’ve purchased Memory Maker, all of your ride photos are included. Since I have an annual pass (and therefore have Memory Maker automatically) I love being able to take advantage of the ride photos being included by creating different poses for the camera.

6) You can download as many photos as you want
Unlike some other photography packages outside of Walt Disney World, where you need to choose a select number of photos to purchase, Memory Maker allows you to download as many photos as you would like. If you end up taking over a thousand photos, and you’re in love with them all, you’ll be able to download them all. This aspect of Memory Maker makes it really easy to find photos you love, while also making the service an excellent value.

7) Photos can be viewed and saved on the My Disney Experience app
To view or save your photos, simply open the My Disney Experience app on your smart phone, or head to mydisneyexperience.com on your computer. I love being able to access my photos using the app, because I can post them to Instagram or Facebook almost instantly so my friends at home can more easily follow along with my trip. The My Disney Experience app makes it so easy to see your photos as they are added to your account, which in my opinion is also a great part of using Memory Maker as you do not need to wait until you get home after your trip to view them without the PhotoPass logo watermarks.
