7 Things Walt Disney World Insiders Love About Memory Maker

Memory Maker is an amazing add-on and feature that Disney had added to complement the PhotoPass service. If you don’t know much about it, this is for you, and explains exactly why you want this for your next vacation. Here are 7 things that Walt Disney World insiders love about Memory Maker:

7. Package add-on

Memory Maker can be added onto your vacation package (as long as it isn’t less than 3 days before your vacation). If you do this at the time that your vacation is booked, then you won’t have to pay for it directly at that time and are only subject to the $200 deposit required on vacation packages. This is a great way to make sure you already have this worked into your vacation budget and will have all of the amazing pictures from your vacation.

6. Cheaper advance purchase

This is definitely a scenario where it benefits you to purchase in advance. You save $30 if you purchase before your trip. It must at least 3 days prior to when it is activated to get the discount price. The Memory Maker is also good for 45 days, so if you visit frequently or have multiple trips planned, you may be able to get additional value out of the Memory Maker with one purchase.

5. Linked to your Magic Band

The Memory Maker is linked to your Magic Band. Even better, you only have to purchase one Memory Maker and it is automatically linked to everyone that is tied to your vacation and My Disney Experience account. So this way you if your party splits up, you can still take pictures along the way and get them all!

4. Ride and dining photos are included

This is probably one of the best and favorite values of Memory Maker. To purchase these individually cost $30 at each dining location and $10 for each ride photo. With Memory Maker, you get them all! So you can ride a ride as many times as you want and get all of the pictures without trying to decide which one you like the most!

3. No need to touch for ride photos

You will notice at the end of the rides that have ride photos, there is a station where you can touch your Magic Band or ticket to the Mickey head to save the photo. Well, with Memory Maker, you don’t have to do that! Your ride photos will be detected and automatically added to your account. There is no need to fight the crowd or make your way to the front. You can glance at your photo and move on to your next attraction! It’s so awesome how that Disney Magic works!

2. Unlimited usage

Take. As. Many. Photos. As. You. Can. I can’t stress this one enough. You get ALL of your photos, so stop at all the PhotoPass locations and get lots of great pictures! You will be so glad when you have a ton of amazing pictures and memories at the end of your trip to commemorate the experience!

1. Magic shots

You also get the Magic Shots with your Memory Maker. These are the shots that include Tinker Bell, Simba, Mickey and other various touches of Magic that are added. You can also add the magic for yourself so that you can edit images before you save them. You can edit any and every one of your photos if you want to, so have fun with it!

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
