7. Early FastPasses

Every guest who visits one of the theme parks in Walt Disney World is entitled to utilize the FastPass system which allows them to select certain attractions and reserve a specific time when they can return and enjoy the experience with little to no wait time. Guests who stay off property can reserve their FastPasses thirty days in advance of their arrival, but guests who stay on property at a Walt Disney World Resort can book their FastPasses sixty days in advance. By having an additional thirty days to book, Disney insiders who stay on property are able to book the most coveted FastPasses with ease and save lots of time on their vacation that otherwise would have been spent waiting in lines.

6. Stacey

Guests who choose to stay on property in a Disney Resort have access to television channels which share information about the parks and Disney Springs, invite guests to join the Disney Vacation Club, and also share must do experiences. The host of the must do list is Stacey, an energetic force that takes guests on a tour of the four theme parks, two water parks, and Disney Springs to share all of the amazing experiences that simply can’t be missed. While Stacey is not Disney Resort exclusive, watching her on each Disney vacation is a perk that many Disney insiders love when staying at a Disney Resort.

5. Extra Magic Hours

Guests who stay at any of the Walt Disney World Resorts are eligible to use Extra Magic Hours which provide special times to enjoy the parks. Exclusive to Disney Resort guests, Extra Magic Hours generally have one park open an hour early and one park remain open up to three hours later than the general public. These select times are less crowded and tend to have lower wait times, allowing Resort guests to enjoy more experiences and attractions in the parks with less time spent waiting on line.

4. Complimentary Transportation

One of the biggest perks of staying on property in Walt Disney World is having access to the easy and convenient complimentary transportation. Each resort features transportation to and from the four theme parks, two water parks, and Disney Springs allowing guests to kick back and relax while not having to worry about getting around on their own. Depending on the resort, guests can enjoy transportation on buses, ferries, boats, Monorail and Skyliner, and never have to wait too long before one shows up to whisk them to the magic!

3. Disney’s Magical Express

Guests who are flying into Orlando and staying at a Walt Disney World Resort can take advantage of Disney’s Magical Express which takes the hassle out of traveling. When arriving in Orlando, guests don’t need to worry about their checked luggage at all and need only board a bus headed straight for their resort. Later that day their luggage will be delivered to their hotel room without them needing to wait around for it. When returning home, guests can check in with TSA agents at their resort and drop off their checked bags without having to worry about transporting them to the airport. Guests then board another bus headed back to the airport and are dropped off in an easy location. By eliminating the need to worry about airport transportation or dealing with luggage, it is no wonder why Disney insiders love using Disney’s Magical Express.

2. Wonderful Themes

Staying on property at a Disney Resort ensures that guests will be surrounded by an immersive theme told through décor, architecture, music, and amenities. Depending on the resort, guests can find themselves in New Orleans’ French Quarter, the South Seas, turn of the century Atlantic City, the savannahs of Africa, or in the middle of a classic film like The Lion King or Finding Nemo. With so many amazing themes to choose from, guests will have a hard time deciding which resort to stay in but will absolutely love staying on property.

1. Amazing Pools

Disney insiders also love staying on property at a Walt Disney World Resort thanks to their amazing pools! About Caitlin Kane

Caitlin Kane first started visiting Walt Disney World when she was two years old, and despite spending most of that trip quarantined with the chicken pox she managed to fall in love with the place. Visiting WDW every year since, she especially loves learning all about the history and small details of the parks and eating/drinking her way through the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival each fall. When she's not in Disney, Caitlin lives in New York and spends her time counting down the days to her next trip.
