The addition of the Magic Band to Walt Disney World was definitely a great choice. 7. They are free! (Well, sometimes!)

If you book a resort stay at one of the Walt Disney World resorts you get a free Magic Band for everyone in your party! You get to select your colors and add whatever name you would like for each band. They are shipped to your house before your stay so that you will have them for use to catch your Magical Express bus from the airport.

6. One size fits all.

The bands are made so that it will fit all sizes of wrists. The outer rim of the band can be disconnected so that the band can be tightened for smaller wrists without having to wrap the band around their wrist twice. It is a pretty unique design and they work really well.

5. You can have as many as you want!

Are you a person who likes to accessorize and match to your outfit? Well no reason you can’t match your Magic Band, too! Each person can have as many linked to their account as they like, so you can save and collect them from each trip so you can change them out. You can also purchase Magic Bands with your favorite characters, rides, seasons, etc. to add even more diversity to your collection.

4. Limited edition Magic Bands.

These are so much fun! There are limited edition Magic Bands that are offered from different seasons, events and characters. Once these Magic Bands are sold out, they are gone. Even better, they usually cause extra magic to happen. For example, during Star Wars weekends, there are always limited edition Magic Bands that are released. When you use them to use your FastPasses, the FastPass Mickey station will make special themed sounds. My husband has a Yoda Limited Edition band from 2 years ago and Yoda still talks to him every time that he uses it. It is so much fun and adds extra to the experience.

3. Decorating your Magic Band.

On a budget or don’t want to spend money on the character Magic Bands? Well, you can take matters into your own hands and decorate your Magic Band for a truly custom band. Guests get extremely creative and add vinyl, glitter, paint, stickers, charms, gems, etc. The sky is the limit, so put your creative hat on and make your Magic Band truly your own!

2. Retail Magic Band on Demand

Well you know how you could design cell phone cases at Disney World? Well now you can actually design your own Magic Band live and it will be printed and ready for you to use. You select the base color of the band, add your name or nickname and select the pattern or print that you want on the band. It is a great way to get exactly what you want and still have your favorite character, park, ride, season, etc. displayed on your band.

1. It does everything!

Gone are the days of the “Key to the World” cards. The Magic Band is linked to just about every aspect of your vacation. The Magic Band has Magical Express information and check-in, key to your resort room, park tickets, dining plan and snack entitlements, room charges and FastPass+. They are conveniently worn on your wrist so you don’t have to worry about getting anything out of your pockets or worrying about dropping them. They are amazing and make your vacation extremely convenient.

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
