There are so many amazing things to experience across Disney World, that is becomes extremely difficult to pick a handful of the must-see experiences. I think I have been able to narrow it down to the top 10 things that you absolutely MUST experience at Disney World:

10. Toy Story Land

Get ready to shrink down to the size of toy while having a blast in Andy’s backyard! Toy Story Land is open at Hollywood Studios and we for one can’t get enough of the fun atmosphere and incredible attractions. The “oldie” but goodie in the land, Toy Story Mania, is still as popular as ever with it’s 3D, arcade style ride. Slinky Dog Dash however is stealing the spotlight! Slinky Dog Dash is a family-friendly coaster where Slinky Dog takes guests on dips and turns throughout Andy’s backyard. After the coaster, get your Alien fix! That’s right, the little green Aliens from Toy Story have their own attraction known as Alien Swirling Saucers. Smooth spins and turns make for a fun attraction that we dare you not to smile on! Outside of these attractions, Woody’s Lunch Box is a great quick-service option with tasty eats.

9. Disney Dining

Dining at Walt Disney World includes some of the best restaurants you will ever experience. Disney dining offers restaurants that are so uniquely themed, decorated and created with every detail in mind, include loveable characters and even unique food choices from world class chefs. The quick-service dining options are even unlike anything that you would expect to be offered for your dining options in the middle of theme parks. They are well worth the visit and definitely a great reason to be sure that you dine on property.

8. Spaceship Earth

Spaceship Earth is one of the most impressive attractions at Epcot. This attraction lives inside the awe-worthy Epcot ball, and is a great place to cool off while you learn all about the dawn of our civilization. The ride takes you all the way through history as you ascend toward the top where you get a beautiful view of the earth, then you make your descent you get to experience an interactive component that will give you a look into what life might be like in the future. This attraction is also acceptable for all ages, so enjoy!

7. Pandora – The World of Avatar

Pandora – The World of Avatar is the newest land in the Animal Kingdom theme park. Here you will find two extremely popular attractions known as Avatar Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey. You can expect a thrilling ride on Avatar Flight of Passage as you climb aboard a Banshee (dragon-like creature) and ride through the beautiful World of Avatar. The Na’vi River Journey is a perfect family-friendly attraction as guests boat down river and see just how beautiful the Na’vi tribe’s rainforest is with bioluminescence lighting and the latest animatronics. Outside of these two attractions, the land is almost like an attraction itself with stunning beauty and ability to interact with guests.

6. Kilimanjaro Safaris

Do you love animals? Well this is the place for you. This is an opportunity to get up close views of African animals in their savanna habitat. They are free-roaming in the savanna, letting you also learn more about their natural homes. There are many, many different animals in the savanna that you get to encounter on a large all-terrain vehicle with a very knowledge guide who will ensure your safe return to the station in Africa. This one is great for the entire family, and you will want to make sure that you have your cameras ready!

5. Animal Kingdom Evening Hours

You don’t want to skip out early from Animal Kingdom! Now coming to life at night, guest have the opportunity to enjoy an amphitheater style show called Rivers of Light where nature is celebrated in an incredibly beautiful way! And who’s ready to dance? The Discovery Island Carnivale is a fun event to dance with colorfully costumed dancers, stilt walkers and musicians. The Tree of Life Awakenings is a perfect way to cap off the evening with its projections and music lighting up the iconic Animal Kingdom symbol. And finally, stop back by Pandora – World of Avatar to see this beautiful land glow at night!

4. Fantasmic

This is one of the most amazing shows on property, and a definite must-see during your trip. This show incorporates pyrotechnics, water imagery, fireworks, characters and even a huge dragon during the show to tell the story of what happens when the villains turn Mickey’s happy dreams into a nightmare Fantasmic. If this show has 2 different offerings for the evening, be sure to wait for the second show. You are less likely to experience as much of a crowd and can go on other attractions while everyone else is in the first show.

3. Meet Mickey

You have to make sure that you meet the Big Cheese, himself. After all, it was all started by a mouse. You will get the opportunity to meet Mickey at each of the parks. My favorite spot is the Magic Kingdom location at the front of the park in Town Square Theater. Mickey is currently meeting with Minnie in this location in their celebration outfits. It’s a delight for any Mickey (and Minnie Mouse) fan to experience!

2. Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular

It doesn’t matter if you are a Star Wars nerd or not – Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular is the perfect way to close out a night at Hollywood Studios! Watch as the Chinese Theater turns into a huge screen for a 14-minute show full of high-definition projection surrounded by lasers, fire, incredible music and sound effects, and of course – the sky lights up with awesome fireworks! It’s an unforgettable Hollywood Studios moment!

1. Happily Ever After

Fireworks have always been the perfect way to wrap up a day at Magic Kingdom! Happily Ever After Fireworks has replaced Wishes, but has thankfully lived up to the beautiful display of fireworks, lasers, projection, music, and storytelling Magic Kingdom is known for. With 18-minutes of “heart, heroism, and humor”, Happily Ever After will send you on your way with your own “happily ever after” ending to an unforgettable Magic Kingdom day!

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
