3. Twice as Many Elephants

In 2012, Walt Disney World doubled the number of elephants by adding a second spinning carousel. There are now 32 elephants that can fly. That means double the fun and less of a wait. This is the other thing that has helped to make the standby wait shorter.

2. One of the Original Attractions at Magic Kingdom

The Magic Kingdom opened on October 1, 1971, and Dumbo the Flying Elephant was one of the attractions. Many of those rides are no longer around, but fortunately Dumbo the Flying Elephant is still flying high. There is so much love for this ride that there are no plans for it to ever be replaced.

1. Fantastic Play Area for Your Wait

If you wait in the standby line there is a circus themed kids’ play area that is air-conditioned. You’ll be given a pager so the little ones can play and have a great time before you get to fly with Dumbo. You can sit down and let the kids play if you want to take a break, or maybe you would like to join them instead. You might want to get in line in the heat of the day so that you can take a break and still be surrounded by magic.
