8 Reasons Walt Disney World Will Always Be My Favorite Vacation

Disney is, by far, our favorite vacation destination. Every time we experience Disney we have the best vacation for the entire family full of magic, fun and memories that we continue to treasure and talk about year after year. We know that we will plan Disney vacations year after year for our family. Here are the top 8 reasons why Disney will always be my favorite vacation:

8. Nostalgia and emotional connections

For most of us, Disney was introduced to us in some shape or form at an early age. This could have been through visits to the parks, Disney movies, Disney TV shows, merchandise, etc. I agrew up watching Disney movies from as early as I can remember long before I went on my first Disney World vacation. Once my family went for the first time, I instantly built a strong emotional connection with Disney through the love I had for beloved characters and movies. The ability to see them come to life every time you visit in different ways is an amazing feeling. Once you have that love of Disney World, there are things about the parks that you find nostalgic and can’t get enough it. It could be a treat, attraction, character, or really anything, but you feel comfortable knowing that you can always get those same feelings every time you visit Disney World.

7. All-inclusive vacation with everything onsite

We absolutely love this about Disney World, and Disney does this in a way that many other vacation destination simply can’t accommodate. From the moment you arrive on Disney property, you never have to leave if you don’t want to! Disney will pick you up at the airport and then there is no need for a car again unless it is your personal preference. You receive a Magic Band before your trip that becomes your room key, FastPass+ utilization, means to use your dining plan and even as payment for your purchases at most locations on property. It allows you to do planning before you are onsite and then once you are there you can truly enjoy an all-inclusive vacation depending on the package selections you make. We feel like we get excitement, adventure and relaxation all in one vacation without the hassle of worrying about plans, what we do or where we will eat.

6. There is an abundance of “magic”

It may sound cheesy, but Disney is fully of “magic”. It’s a feeling that you get as soon as you are on property. It is a feeling like nothing I have ever experienced anywhere else. It is an instant excitement and emotion for everything that is to come on the vacation. Then, as you experience your vacation the magical moments become even more apparent in the character interactions, special appearances, streetmosphere, the details in each and every aspect of the parks, resorts and entertainment, etc. There is magic in just about every inch of Disney with something new to notice and experience each time. It leaves you wanting to come time and time again for more.

5. Amazing Disney food

Disney food and dining experiences are nothing short of amazing. Disney has countless dining experiences and options to enjoy during your stay. The food is almost enough of a reason to come back year after year to experience. This isn’t just the Dole Whip and School Bread (which are amazing and definitely reasons that factor into why Disney is our favorite vacation), but are experiences are the various quick-service and table service restaurants. If you haven’t had a hot dog at Casey’s Corner, pizza at Via Napoli, cobb salad at The Hollywood Brown Derby or the ribs at Flame Tree BBQ, you haven’t truly experienced Disney World yet. There are so many amazing food experiences at each and every restaurant that between trying to try them all, plus repeating favorites, it will keep us busy for a lifetime!

4. Special events and holidays

Nobody does the different holidays like Disney! The little extra touches and detail are even more abundant during holidays, seasons and special events. There is always something special to see no matter what time of the year you visit… Festival of the Arts, Flower and Garden Festival, Food & Wine Festival, Festival of the Holidays, Marathon Weekends, plus all of the holidays and seasons, too! Each of these include special experiences that you can only see and experience at that time, and of course only from Disney. We find ourselves wanting to visit multiple times a year (and we do) because it is hard to pick a favorite time to experience Disney. That doesn’t leave room for very many vacations to other places!

3. Disney Resorts

Hopefully you have had the opportunity to stay at a Disney resort before. They are all amazing! There are resorts to meet almost every type of expectation regardless of budget, theme, type of accommodations, etc. Each family will find a resort that meets their needs, and will transport them to a unique experience within that resort. You can get the feeling of a North Pacific lodge, be carried away to Polynesian beaches, experience the feeling of a classic Boardwalk and many more experiences. To stay at each resort would take several years of vacations, and we want to stay at them all!

2. The youthful feel you get

As soon as I arrive on Disney property, I instantly feel younger and more energetic. I feel like I get the opportunity to relive many of my childhood memories and enjoy them with my own kids. I wear Disney shirts and Mickey ears, dance to the music, hug the characters and talk to them like I would as a small child and love every minute of all of it. It probably does wonders for my stress and blood pressure compared to being back in the real world working, taking care of the household, chores, etc. It’s a really nice feeling to feel like you have a little break from the responsibility of the “real” world and enjoy feeling like a kid again.

1. The cast members!

I have never been anywhere that has offers the same quality of guest service that Disney does. You actually get spoiled to it. It tends to highlight the lack of guest service and focus on the guest experience in other establishments and service industries. Nobody does guest service like Disney. Disney goes above and beyond to ensure that all guests are happy and have the best vacation, meal, experience, etc. ever. Disney World wouldn’t be the same without all of the amazing cast members who work hard to make the magic possible, and other vacation destinations just don’t offer this same level of service, detail and attention and provide that same level of service to my children, too.

There are so many reasons why Disney World is our favorite vacation destination and why we will continue to come back time and time again! There is just so much Disney to see and experience, and we haven’t done it all yet! New attractions and experiences are added all the time, so we likely never will, which is just another amazing thing about Disney World! Hope to see you there soon!

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
