Disney offers various tiers of Annual Passes. My family and I are very proud to be Annual Passholders and have utilized all of the various perks and features numerous times in order to take full advantage of the membership. We have found that the Annual Passholder membership is the best way for us to enjoy Disney World for the best price with a lot of flexibility. From our personal experience, here are 8 reasons why you should get an annual pass to Walt Disney World:

8. Early registration for RunDisney events.
If you enjoy the RunDisney race events, then the 2 week early registration is a huge benefit. You are able to complete your registration from a block of available registrations for each race that is released early just for Annual Passholders and DVC members. This could make the difference between actually getting registered for the race or not since these races are extremely popular and sell out very fast! There is a special page for Annual Passholders to use to register that links to their account.
7. Free theme park parking options.
Depending on which level of pass you purchase, you get free parking at all of the theme parks. Parking is now at $25 per day, so that can add up to a huge savings if you visit a lot and drive your own car. It makes one less obstacle to keep you from getting to experience Disney as much and as often as possible. It also makes stopping for just a couple of hours for dining or to just do a couple things more doable as well!
6. Merchandise discounts.
Annual Passholders receive 10% off at many merchandise locations all over property. The full list is provided when you purchase your pass so that you can find the locations, but the 10% savings can add up to a lot if you are a shopper and enjoy buying lots of Disney merchandise, like me!
5. Dining discounts.
Many of the table-service (and some quick-service) restaurants offer 10% off at certain meals. The full list of restaurants and applicable meal times are provided when you purchase your pass. If you are a regular table-service diner, you also become eligible to purchase Tables in Wonderland, which gets you 20% off at most table-service restaurants on property (including alcohol), free valet parking at the resorts when you are dining there and invitations to special events. This add-on is only available to Annual Passholders, Florida Residents and DVC Members and can add up to a huge savings for regular visitors and diners.
4. Experience/tour/event discounts.
There are even more discounts to all of the events and services around property. Annual Passholders receive discounts when booking behind the scenes tours, golf, salon/spa services, event party ticket purchases, etc. If you like to utilize recreation activities or attend these special events, the savings from these purchases have to be factored in, as it really can add up over the course of a year.

3. Special event/merchandise options.
Annual Passholders are frequently invited to special events. These events are usually where you can be among the first to test our new attractions and shows, see previews or even various appreciation events. Many of these events are also accompanied with free promotional materials like posters, pins and buttons that are only distributed to Annual Passholders. There are sometimes also exclusive merchandise available for purchase only by Annual Passholders. If you like being an exclusive part of certain events and the magic, then you don’t want to miss out on these extras!
2. Unlimited PhotoPass.
Now Disney Annual Passholders, depending on your pass level, receive unlimited PhotoPass service downloads with their pass. This means that they can download their images taken using Disney’s PhotoPass for free and have the rights to order prints of the images. This is a huge add-on to the package for frequent visitors so that they can capture even more magical moments with all of the members of their family. Pictures are in fact worth 1,000 words, and now you can have picture after picture throughout the year to capture the different seasons, events and special celebrations.
1. Pays for itself.
So, as you can see from all of these different services and savings listed, the Annual Passes really can pay itself based on how you use your pass. Even if you don’t make use of all these offered discounts, it is important to factor in how many days you typically visit Disney in a rolling year. The costs by default may work out in your favor to purchase an Annual Pass instead of park tickets for each visit, and then you would still receive all of the great perks and discounts! Do the math and see what works best for your family. There are many compelling reasons why the Annual Pass would make sense!
