Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has an amazing backstory that many guests might not know about. Mama Melrose was a young girl growing up in Sicily who dreamed of becoming a Hollywood star and moved to California. While she dreamed of acting, she discovered that her real passion was cooking and she created delicious meals for her new friends. She soon opened a restaurant in a backlot warehouse that initially stored film equipment and her legend soon grew to where all of her customers called her Mama Melrose. The restaurant soon earned the title of “where Italy meets California in the heart of the backlot” and has been wowing guests ever since.
