8 Ways To Make Walt Disney World Fireworks Extra Special

The fireworks are a huge part of the Walt Disney World experience!  Disney really does do it best and guests don’t want to miss these shows.  The experiences are special no matter how you watch them, but Disney does offer a variety of ways to make them extra special.  Here are 8 great ways that you can make the fireworks even more special for your party:

8. Book one of the dessert parties.

There are dessert parties offered at the different theme parks. These dessert parties typically offer you reserved viewing of the nighttime shows, plus a variety of delicious desserts and beverages.  The offerings vary depending on the season and which park the event is held at, but they are all a lot of fun.  The dessert parties require valid theme park admission, plus an event ticket.

7. Ferrytale Fireworks: A Sparkling Dessert Cruise

This is a separate ticketed event. During this amazing cruise, guests board one of Disney’s ferry boats.  There will be delicious desserts and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) offered, plus a variety of fun entertainment on board.  When it is time for the fireworks at Magic Kingdom, guests will be able to watch with an amazing view from the ferry out on the water.  It is definitely a special way to experience Happily Ever After.

6. Bring or buy glow stuff.

If you are watching the show from within the parks you will see a ton of glow stuff around.  You can always bring your own glow stuff with you.  The glow bracelets, headbands, necklaces, wands, etc. will go over big with the kiddos and they will be much cheaper for you to bring in yourself.  If you didn’t bring glow stuff, Disney sells a ton of great options.  The Disney glow stuff is amazing and is usually battery powered, so you can take it home and use it again.  You can also use it night after night in the parks, too.

5. View the fireworks from a dining location.

There are a few restaurants at Epcot where you can view Epcot Forever.  If you prefer to be able to sit and enjoy the fireworks while having a drink, dinner, dessert, etc. then you can check out some of these options, but no guarantee on an unobstructed view or that you will get the best seat to see.  Our favorite dining and fireworks spots are actually for Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom Park.  If you dine at Narcoossee’s (Grand Floridian), ‘Ohana (Polynesian) or California Grill (Contemporary) during time for the fireworks, you will have amazing views of the show.  You will be able to see everything unfold over the entire sky and the music is piped in so that you can hear along with the show.

4. Pirates & Pals Fireworks Dessert Voyage

This is a fun cruise where guests get a little taste of the pirate life.  Guests get to enjoy snacks and treats like cookies, cupcakes, pretzels, chips, fruit, etc.  There are also hot and cold beverages offered, too.  Guests will play trivia and have a variety of fun out on the water.  Guests will also have a perfect viewing of Happily Ever After from the boat and then return to a special surprise to greet them when they return.  It is a lot of fun for the entire family!

3. Book the Grand 1 Yacht.

If you want one of the most luxurious and expensive fireworks experiences, then you could consider booking the Grand 1 Yacht.  The Yacht is 52 feet long and accommodates 18 people or 17 people, plus 1 butler.  You can cater a full meal for a combined private dining and fireworks viewing experience.  The rental for the yacht starts at $399 per hour, plus the additional cost of any of the other dining add-ons that you are interested in.  It would definitely make for a grand, magical experience!

2. Charter a private fireworks cruise.

If the Grand 1 Yacht is a little too lavish and expensive, you can also charter smaller private boats to create your own cruise.  You can also choose whether you would want to watch Happily Ever After or Epcot Forever.  Music for the show will be piped into the boat so you will be immersed into the complete experience from the comfort of the boat.  There are also typically dining add-on options and special celebration/decoration options available, too.

1. Make your own special memories.

You can always book a meal at the park before the fireworks, so that you enjoy a delicious table-service meal as a family and then head to a viewing area to watch the fireworks.  Hype up the fireworks for the kiddos and then watch the amazement on their faces as the show is performed.  I love watching the fireworks show, but I think I love watching the looks on my kids’ faces even more.  The true magic comes from making memories with the most important people in your life.

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
