10. Do Arrive For Rope Drop —
The best way to kick off any day in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is to arrive for rope drop. Doing so entails getting to the park before it officially opens in the morning and waiting at the gates to be let inside. While waiting, guests can listen to a welcome speech which tells them all about the amazing experiences waiting for them inside. Once the gates are officially open, guests who arrived early for rope drop are some of the first inside where they are treated with few crowds and low wait times on popular attractions.
9. Do Enjoy Toy Story Mania First —
One of the most popular attractions in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is Toy Story Mania in the Pixar Place section of the park. The attraction magically shrinks guests down to the size of toys and invites them to compete in a series of 3D midway games hosted by the characters from the series. Guests love the dizzying competition and seeing who can gain bragging rights with the top score. Since Toy Story Mania is so popular with guests in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the attraction can easily have wait times that exceed several hours on busy days in the park. Therefore guests should plan to head straight for the attraction when the park opens to enjoy the experience with little to no wait time.
8. Don’t FastPass Toy Story Mania —
Since guests can head straight to Toy Story Mania when Disney’s Hollywood Studios opens, they should opt to enjoy the attraction then with little to no wait time. Since guests will get to already enjoy the attraction early off in their day, they should then avoid using a FastPass for Toy Story Mania and instead save it for another popular attraction to save themselves time later in their day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
7. Do FastPass The Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror —
Perhaps the eeriest attraction in all of Walt Disney World can be found in Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the end of Sunset Boulevard. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror invites guests into the abandoned Hollywood Tower Hotel where five guests mysteriously disappeared into The Twilight Zone many years earlier after their elevator was struck by lightning. Guests who are brave enough to enjoy the attraction find themselves in for a similar fate after boarding an evil service elevator headed directly to The Twilight Zone. Since The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is popular with many guests who visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios, booking a FastPass for the experience is a great idea to save lots of time that otherwise would have been spent on a long standby line.
6. Don’t Standby The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith —
Found right next door to The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror on Sunset Boulevard is the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. The attraction invites guests into G Force Records where the band is busy recording their next hit. After a chance encounter, guests find themselves rocketing through the neon lights of downtown after being invited to a concert across town. With daring inversions and high speeds, the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is a thrilling attraction that is popular with many guests. Thanks to its popularity, the attraction often has long wait times, but guests should not book a FastPass or wait on the standby line. They should instead save the FastPass for another experience and opt to utilize the Single Rider Line which offers the same experience with a generally shorter wait time so long as guests don’t mind being split up at the loading platform.

5. Do FastPass Star Tours – The Adventure Continues —
Another popular attraction in Disney’s Hollywood Studios brings guests directly into the Star Wars universe for an adventure that is out of this world. Star Tours – The Adventure Continues begins as a routine Star Tours flight but soon turns daring as guests discover that a Rebel Spy is on board. With randomized 3D scenes depicting familiar characters and locations from the Star Wars series, guests love to enjoy a ride on Star Tours – The Adventure Continues. Since the attraction is so popular with guests, the wait times tend to be rather long making it a great option to book a FastPass for.
4. Don’t Miss The Underrated —
In addition to the thrilling and popular attractions in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there are a handful of other experiences which tend to be considered underrated and can sometimes be overlooked by guests. Those who spend time in the park should be sure to stop and enjoy wonderful attractions like Muppet Vision 3D, Beauty and the Beast – Live On Stage, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Walt Disney Presents, and the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!
3. Do Enjoy A Meal —
A long day in Disney’s Hollywood Studios requires enjoying a meal somewhere and luckily the park is home to some amazing options. Guests looking to enjoy meals on the faster side can enjoy quick service options like the Backlot Express, ABC Commissary, and Rosie’s All-American Café. For those looking to enjoy a full service meal, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is home to amazing options like the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant, Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano, The Hollywood Brown Derby, and the 50’s Prime Time Café. In the mood for a drink? Head over to Baseline Tap House for a refreshing California inspired beer, wine, or cocktail.
2. Don’t Be Late To Fantasmic! —
Select nights in Disney’s Hollywood Studios come to a close with a performance of the amazing show Fantasmic! Housed in the Hollywood Hills Amphitheater, the performance invites guests into Mickey’s imagination for a battle between good and evil. Combining special effects, projected animation, dancing waters, pyrotechnics, fireworks, Disney characters and music, and a massive dragon, the show is one that is sure to amaze guests. Since Fantasmic! is so popular, guests tend to start lining up for the performance at least an hour before show time to guarantee a seat in the theater. One of the biggest mistakes that guests can make in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is not arriving early for Fantasmic! and being shut out of the performance!
1. Do “Let The Force Be With You”
There is a strong presence of the force at Hollywood Studios… the Star Wars force! With the March of the First Order, Jedi Training, Star Tours, Star Wars Launch Bay, and the incredible nighttime experience – Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular – it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by these epic options. Star Wars fan or not, prepare to get a dose of all things Star Wars when visiting Hollywood Studios!
