Did you know that Walt Disney World Resort officially bans ice at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park? Here’s what you need to know before you visit the Central Florida Disney parks.

On Tuesday, TikTok user @mimimouseears shared this video warning potential Walt Disney World Resort guests that ice is prohibited at Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. I didn’t know this is banned at Disney,” the social media user wrote.

“Yep, you can’t bring loose ice into Disney World. Not a joke,” the TikToker continued. “It slows down security. It melts and creates slippery puddles. It can hide banned stuff (like alcohol).”
The user suggested guests bring sealed or reusable ice packs, “but your Yeti [cooler] full of cubes? That’s a no.”

Although the video shocked many Disney Parks fans, the TikToker is correct. While it’s usually fine to bring a reusable water bottle with some ice cubes from the machine at your Disney Resort hotel, Walt Disney World Resort’s rules read: “Loose and dry ice is not permitted in our parks. Reusable ice packs are recommended.”
Walt Disney World Resort banned loose ice cubes “in order to improve guest flow, ease congestion and streamline the bag-check and entry processes.” Guests who need ice for baby food, medicine, or another item are encouraged to use reusable ice packs or visit any Quick Service dining location for a free cup of ice.

Unlike most theme parks, Walt Disney World Resort does permit guests to bring in outside food and (non-alcoholic) beverages. Guests can bring coolers smaller than 24″ long x 15″ wide x 18″ high (61 cm x 38 cm x 46 cm), but must use reusable ice packs in them.

I am a senior citizen and my doctor recommended that I use a cane with a seat so I can sit when needed. I have an ADA approved device and use it often at venues where I have to stand in line. I was told by a Disney cast member at EPCOT that I can use it as a cane but not as a chair. I have searched Disney documents but cannot find a written rule to confirm what the cast member said.
B. Miller, Please check with disability services at WDW. They should be able to provide better advice. Usually at EPCOT, for example at Spaceship Earth, they will accommodate you at the ride entrance to return at a scheduled time and enter through the rear accessible entrance. They did that for my mom with a Rollator/collapsing seat ADA device.
Disney seems to hate it’s potential customers.
We went july 1st loose ice and there was no problems. I have been told we need to have our ice in ziplocks before but I forgot last trip. They still let us entered even though had loose ice.
