Disney’s Hollywood Studios is turning up the volume as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster prepares for its Muppets-themed transformation, with Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem taking center stage beginning May 26. The updated attraction places guests in the middle of a wild race through Hollywood after the band mysteriously disappears ahead of a major concert event. Adding to the excitement, several recognizable celebrity faces are set to appear throughout the experience, including Awkwafina, Danny Trejo, Neil Patrick Harris, and Weird Al Yankovic, helping create the feel of a star-studded VIP music event.

Music remains the heart of the reimagined coaster, with five possible songs rotating during the ride. The lineup includes “Song 2,” “Born To Be Wild” featuring Camilla the Chicken, “Love Rollercoaster” with Jennifer Hudson and Questlove, “Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)” with Def Leppard, and “Walking on Sunshine” with Kelly Clarkson. Each launch delivers one of these tracks, giving guests a different concert-inspired experience each time they ride while keeping the Electric Mayhem’s signature chaotic energy front and center.

Disney World To Welcome Cast Members This May

Disney is getting ready to roll out the red carpet—literally—as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets gears up for its official debut at Walt Disney World on May 26, 2026. But before the general public gets the chance to jump into the high-speed chaos with Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, select groups of guests will be among the first to experience the reimagined attraction through special preview opportunities.

According to reports, early access will be offered to cast members, Disney Vacation Club members, and Annual Passholders, giving some of Disney’s most dedicated fans a sneak peek ahead of opening day. Beginning May 6, cast members can register for one of the selected May preview dates for themselves and up to three guests.

The move follows a familiar Disney parks strategy—testing operations while building anticipation for a major launch. These preview windows often serve as both a soft opening and a chance to fine-tune the guest experience before the attraction officially opens to all visitors. As seen recently over in Magic Kingdom with the reopening of Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin, cast member (and other) previews tend to lead to soft openings for all guests, meaning that May 26 may not be the first day regular ticketholders will be able to access the new attraction.

The updated coaster marks a major shift for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, replacing the long-running Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith with a brand-new concept centered on the beloved Muppets. While the ride system itself remains largely unchanged—meaning guests can still expect the same high-speed launches and inversions—the story and theming have been completely overhauled to spotlight the Electric Mayhem and their signature brand of musical mayhem.

In this new version of the attraction, guests are swept into a fast-paced storyline involving the band as they prepare for a major concert event. Along the way, the experience leans heavily into the humor and unpredictability that have defined the Muppets for decades, with updated queue elements, preshow moments, and in-ride scenes designed to immerse guests in the chaos of a rock ‘n’ roll adventure.

As Disney continues to reveal more details, additional announcements—including exact preview dates and possible new surprises—are expected in the coming weeks. For now, excitement continues to build as one of Walt Disney World’s most iconic thrill rides prepares for a bold new era, blending classic coaster thrills with the unmistakable energy of the Muppets.

About Thomas Hitchen

When he’s not thinking about the Magic Kingdom, Thomas is usually reading a book, becoming desperately obsessed with fictional characters, or baking something delicious (his favorite is chocolate cake -- to bake and to eat). He's a dreamer and grew up on Mulan saving the world, Jim Hawkins soaring through the stars, and Padmé Amidala fighting a Nexu. At the Parks, he loves to ride Everest, stroll down Main Street with an overstuffed pin lanyard around his neck, and eat as many Mickey-shaped ice creams as possible. His favorite character is Han Solo (yes, he did shoot first), and his favorite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer except when it's One Tree Hill. He loves sandy beach walks, forest hikes, and foodie days out in the Big City. Thomas lives in England, UK, with his fiancée, baby, and their dog, a Border Collie called Luna.
