Walt Disney World is home to hundreds of attractions spread across its four iconic theme parks. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned Disney fan, there are certain rides and experiences that should be at the top of your list—and a few that you might want to skip. With so much to do and see, it can be difficult to know where to spend your time.

Don’t worry—we’ve got you covered with our guide to 5 rides to skip and 5 rides you absolutely shouldn’t miss during your Disney World vacation!

Walt Disney World is full of exciting attractions, but some just don’t hit the mark for everyone. Whether it’s because of long waits, lackluster experiences, or personal preference, these rides might not be worth your time.

But don’t worry, there are plenty of other amazing attractions waiting for you!

1. Mission: SPACE (EPCOT)

Mission: SPACE, located in EPCOT’s World Discovery, offers a space launch simulation that can be thrilling for some. However, if you’re sensitive to motion sickness, you might want to pass on this one. Both the “Green” version (less intense) and the “Orange” version (which spins) have left us feeling dizzy more than once.

If you’re looking to avoid that uncomfortable, queasy feeling, it’s better to skip this ride. You’ll find plenty of other adventures at EPCOT that don’t have you spinning through space!

2. Goofy’s Barnstormer (Magic Kingdom)

Goofy’s Barnstormer is an adorable, kiddie coaster in Magic Kingdom’s Storybook Circus, but it’s short and doesn’t pack much of a thrill for adults. If you’re hoping for more excitement, you’re better off waiting in line for rides like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

The ride’s duration is only about a minute, so unless you’re with little ones who are just starting their rollercoaster adventures, this is one you can skip. Trust us—there are plenty of bigger thrills in the park!

3. Kali River Rapids (Animal Kingdom)

Kali River Rapids, located in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, is perfect for a hot day—if you don’t mind getting absolutely drenched! While this water ride is refreshing in the summer heat, you’ll leave soaking wet from head to toe, which can make the rest of your park day uncomfortable.

If you’re not in the mood to walk around drenched, this is a ride you can skip. If you’re craving water-based fun without getting completely soaked, consider checking out Tiana’s Bayou Adventure or other water attractions!

4. Na’vi River Journey (Animal Kingdom)

While Pandora – The World of Avatar in Animal Kingdom is an immersive and beautiful area, the Na’vi River Journey doesn’t quite live up to the hype. This peaceful boat ride is lovely but lacks a strong narrative or any real excitement.

Although the animatronic at the end is jaw-droppingly impressive, the long wait times often aren’t worth it for a calm, uneventful experience. If you’re looking for thrills and excitement, this one doesn’t make the cut.

5. Astro Orbiter (Magic Kingdom)

Astro Orbiter in Magic Kingdom offers some fantastic aerial views of the park, but it comes with a hefty wait. The ride’s process can feel like a chore, as you need to take an elevator up and down to board. By the time you finally get on the ride, the experience feels like a time investment without much reward.

You can skip this one in favor of other, quicker spinner rides like Dumbo the Flying Elephant or Magic Carpets of Aladdin, both of which offer great views without the long wait.
