A Brand New Experience Inspired by ‘Avatar’ Is Coming to Disney World’s Animal Kingdom

After over a decade of waiting, James Cameron’s Avatar (2009) sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water (2022), hits theaters this week, and the anticipation has certainly had enough time to build up and bubble over.

Walt Disney World Resort’s Animal Kingdom is home to Pandora: The World of Avatar, which boasts two popular attractions: Na’vi River Journey and Flight of Passage.

In preparation for the upcoming film, which is expected to soar due to the popularity of the first Avatar film, Animal Kingdom has begun rallying excitement with all-new merchandise and an all-new light projection onto the Tree of Life.

Theme park reporter Scott Gustin recently sent out a Tweet, sharing the news as well as a sneak peek into this brand-new light projection show.

From what we can see in the sneak peek, it seems as if the light projection will conjure images of the Na’vi soaring through the forest on their ikran (or mountain banshees in English). It also appears that the new light projection will show serene images from the upcoming sequel Avatar: The Way of Water.

As for the rest of the images shown during the new light projection show, we’ll have to wait and see!
