It is shaping up to be a busy summer at the Walt Disney World Resort, and the 4th of July holiday is no exception!
According to the Disney park reservation calendar, the Magic Kingdom is now at capacity for theme park reservations on July 4, 2022. The update comes shortly after Disney confirmed that the 4th of July fireworks would be returning to the park for the first time since 2019.
Even with July 4 at capacity, there are still a couple of ways you can see the Independence Day fireworks. Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky will take place on both July 3 and July 4, 2022, AND theme park reservations are still available to visit the Magic Kingdom on July 3.
If you were hoping to see the 4th of July fireworks from inside the park, we recommend making reservations for a July 3 trip to the Magic Kingdom as soon as you are able to.
From outside of the park, you can get spectacular views of the fireworks from select areas at each of the monorail resorts, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
If you do plan to watch the fireworks from a resort, note that Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort will likely limit their beach access to resort Guests only.
Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky is the traditional Magic Kingdom 4th of July fireworks show that includes perimeter fireworks around the park. The performance has been on hiatus for each Independence Day since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so it is certainly exciting to see these fireworks return to the Magic Kingdom this year.
Disney has not yet confirmed other entertainment for this 4th of July, however, previous years have also included special PhotoPass Magic Shots in Liberty Square in the Magic Kingdom, as well as patriotic character meet and greets and Fife and Drum performances in EPCOT at the American Adventure.
