Disney Tips Your Guide To A Great Disney Vacation
Atlantic hurricane season is upon us, and with it comes the potential for severe weather to hit the Walt Disney World Resort or impact your travel plans to and from your upcoming Disney vacation.
Tropical Depression Nine is currently the main focus that the National Hurricane Center is tracking near Florida for the week ahead, with its forecast bringing the potential for up to a Category 3 hurricane if the storm were to make landfall next week.

The path of the storm still has time to change, but according to the most recent data it is on track to become a hurricane if it continues its current path. WESH.com reports that Tropical Depression Nine had been heading northwest with maximum winds reaching 35 miles per hour. Current stats show it heading to tropical storm territory by Friday, with the potential to strengthen through Category 1 and 2 hurricane statuses by Tuesday, September 27, 2022.
Given the way the storm is trending, the National Hurricane Center recommends that all Florida residents and visitors prepare with supplies in case it makes landfall. For Guests at Walt Disney World, there are systems in place to keep you safe should a hurricane impact your vacation, however, having some extra supplies in your hotel room (especially food and water) never hurts.

In the event of severe weather at Walt Disney World, be sure to follow all Cast Member instructions. There are certain buildings in each of the theme parks that are designated as storm shelters, so you may be asked to move to one of these locations before heading to other areas or home from the Parks. And at the Resorts, Cast Members will instruct you when you should stay indoors and take additional precautions due to a hurricane.
