With Subtropical Storm Nicole gearing up to make landfall on Florida, preparations are currently underway across the state to keep both travelers and locals safe during the storm.
At Walt Disney World, golf courses and water parks are currently scheduled to be closed on Thursday, November 10, 2022, though Disney did previously announce other closures only to rescind its initial announcement. (If this changes once again, we will be sure to share an update here.)

The latest closure announced ahead of the storm comes from the Orlando International Airport (MCO), which took to Twitter to share with travelers that the airport will stop commercial operations beginning at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2022.
The Twitter thread goes on to note that the airport will continue to monitor the storm and share updates as needed. With the storm still moving toward the area, no reopening timeframe has been confirmed so far.

The Orlando Sanford International Airport also announced a closure for passenger flights beginning at the same date and time on November 9 at 4:00 p.m. The majority of Guests visiting Walt Disney World fly into MCO, but in case you were arriving via the Sanford Airport (or thinking it might be a way to get home with MCO closed) we wanted to confirm that this would not be an option either due to the storm.
Guests scheduled to fly into the Orlando International Airport or Sanford Airport, (or home from Central Florida) on this date should check on cancellation policies with their accommodations and ground transportation. For those unable to get home from Walt Disney World, Disney Resorts could end up being used as a place to shelter during the storm as is often the case for those left stranded during a hurricane.
While Disney has paused new theme park reservations ahead of Nicole’s arrival, Resorts are still set to be open and the theme parks are planning to operate normally during this time. We are expecting more updates from Walt Disney World, soon however, as the storm moves closer to land and as other area businesses begin sharing closing policies of their own.
