A Game-Changing Update Is Reportedly Coming to Disney Genie+ “Within the Next Week”

When it comes to visiting Walt Disney World Resort, the glory years of FastPass+ are over.

Gone are the days of paper FastPasses and of scheduling FastPasses up to 60 days in advance. Although Disney fans and Guests remember FastPass+ fondly, the Walt Disney Company has moved on to its next experiment, and it’s here to stay.

Instead of using the familiar FastPass system, Guests have been grappling with the relatively new Genie+ and Lightning Lane services.

As with any change made to the Disney experience, some Guests have been dragging their feet on using the paid service while others have been singing its praises.

However, the latest Genie+ updates may make planning easier for everybody, regardless of their feelings about Disney’s Genie+.

As we can see in this Tweet, Genie+ will reportedly allow Guests to “modify Lightning Lane selections in the [My Disney Experience] app without having to cancel and rebook their selections. With this change, they’ll be able to search for other available attractions of arrival windows.”

Some Guests have expressed excitement or approval over this move, while other Guests have expressed surprise that this wasn’t already a part of the Disney Genie+ system.

Not only that, but this Genie+ update will also reportedly give Guests the ability to “make changes for specific members of their party, meaning they can adjust their party size during modification.”

This update could be a game-changer when it comes to making plans and visiting a Disney Park. It is expected to go into effect “within the next week” at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort.
