On Tuesday, August 26, X (formerly Twitter) user @DisneyScoopGuy posted photos showing a Disneyland70-themed stage in front of the castle. The installation features vibrant banners and colorful floral arrangements that fit with the “Celebrate Happy” 70th anniversary decorations scattered throughout Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.

Though no performances were seen on Tuesday, the structure is likely linked to World Princess Week. Disney Parks Blog announced that a special Disney Princess concert, filmed in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, will debut on YouTube on August 29 (and later on Disney+). The event will also celebrate Disneyland Resort’s 70th anniversary, making the stage a fitting centerpiece.

The concert will include performances by Jodi Benson (Ariel in The Little Mermaid, 1989), Paige O’Hara (Belle in Beauty and the Beast, 1991), Anika Noni Rose (Tiana in The Princess and the Frog, 2009), and Auliʻi Cravalho (Moana in Moana, 2016). Hosts will include Ginnifer Goodwin (Judy Hopps in Zootopia, 2016; Snow White in ABC’s Once Upon A Time) and Susan Egan (“Beauty and the Beast” Original Broadway Cast; Meg in Hercules, 1997).

This Princess concert adds to a long list of Disneyland70 festivities. Disneyland Park guests have enjoyed offerings like the “Celebrate Happy Cavalcade,” the Paint the Night parade, the Wondrous Journeys fireworks, “Walt Disney – A Magical Life,” and the Tapestry of Happiness projection show on “it’s a small world.” The Fantasyland ride also debuted a new song verse written by the late Sherman brothers.

Across the esplanade, Disney California Adventure Park is also celebrating, with anniversary-themed updates to the Toy Story Midway Mania! ride, the interactive World of Color Happiness! show, and the Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! parade. Guests can also find a variety of anniversary-themed merchandise, food, and beverages throughout the Disney parks.
