Is character dining a must-do for your Disney vacations? If so, you won’t want to miss one beloved character dining experience, that will soon offer breakfast and lunch for the first time since the onset of the pandemic in 2020.

Some of the most beloved restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort are character dining experiences, allowing Guests the chance to meet some of their favorite Disney characters while enjoying a delicious and often all-you-care-to-enjoy meal. You can find character dining locations all over the Resort, and with several restaurants letting Guests dine with the characters across each Park and many Disney hotels, there are plenty to choose from.

Character restaurants come in all forms with many of them featuring classic Disney characters like Mickey, Minnie, and friends (including Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and Tusker House in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, just to name a few.)

Over in EPCOT, one of the best character restaurants for fans of Disney princesses has only been offering dinner since it reopened after the 2020 closures. Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in World Showcase’s Norway Pavilion brings together iconic Disney princesses with classic American and Norwegian-inspired eats. Guests dining at Akershus can typically expect to see characters like Ariel, Aurora, Snow White, Belle, and Jasmine; however, Guests have also met Cinderella, Mary Poppins and Mulan at this location in the past as well.

Breakfast has been especially missed over the last three years, as many Guests have enjoyed dining at Akershus early to spend the morning in World Showcase with delicious specialties like Norwegian waffles.

While reservations are not yet available (and Disney has yet to confirm when they will be available), the latest updates to Disney’s website note pricing and full menu details for Akershus.
