Safety is the top priority for Cast Members at the Walt Disney World Resort, and as such, it is alarming that one incident was able to happen in the first place and how it was handled by management during a Guest’s recent Resort stay.

Disney Resort hotel rooms are only accessible while scanning a valid MagicBand, My Disney Experience phone app, or room keycard, so obviously, a person who is not on the reservation should not be able to enter a room.
Thankfully, the Guest who experienced the incident had the top latch closed on the door, so the man was unable to enter fully, but the fact that he was able to open the door in the first place is extremely alarming.

What’s even more alarming, is that the Guest says that she contacted the front desk immediately following the incident, and despite being told that management would meet her at her room to discuss the issue they never showed up. She later went to the front desk herself to speak to a Cast Member about what she had experienced, but she left feeling as though the issue was never resolved.
Staying safe while traveling and staying in a hotel room anywhere is always a concern, especially for women staying alone, so it is extremely unsettling to see that this happened in the first place, and how it was handled (or mishandled) by Disney.
