Disney Tips Your Guide To A Great Disney Vacation
Disney’s ambitious “Star Wars hotel” had been highly anticipated since it was originally announced at the 2017 D23 Expo. After its spring 2022 opening, the immersive two-night experience officially known as the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser received largely rave reviews from Guests who had stayed aboard the Halcyon themselves, and mixed reviews from Guests who were not yet willing to book given the hefty price tag.
At roughly $5,000 for three Guests to experience the two-night stay (give or take depending on party sizes, dates, and cabin types), it is not surprising to point out that many families visiting Walt Disney World would simply find the experience entirely out of budget.
And while the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser continued to sell out voyages through the summer of 2022, it seemed that things started to take a turn once many of the diehard Star Wars fans had already experienced the new offering.

Earlier this year, Disney began removing available voyages from the booking calendar on the official website for the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, likely based on trends of how few dates had been selling out by this point. Shortly after removing some voyages, Disney released discounts on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser for Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Members.
The Disney Vacation Club-exclusive voyage was one of the first to sell out in quite some time, perhaps prompting Disney to make the move for another major discount for Guests planning their own two-night stays.

The latest discount for Guests hoping to stay aboard the Halcyon for less comes in the form of special savings for Walt Disney World Annual Passholders. On March 28, 2023, Disney’s official website shared the following details:

Annual Passholders can save 30% on select Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser voyages—valid for voyages on the following departure dates in spring and summer 2023:
April 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27 and 29
May 1, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 19, 21, 23, 25, 29 and 31
June 2, 4, 6, 14, 18, 20, 24, 26 and 28
A savings of 30% could make or break a Guest’s ability to book a stay aboard the Starcruiser, as depending on the date and cabin type, this could work out to about $1,500 off the trip’s total. We should also note that the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser really operates similarly to a Disney Cruise Line vacation rather than a trip to a Disney Resort as the two-night stay includes meals onboard the ship and an excursion to Black Spire Outpost on the planet of Batuu (aka Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.)

As with any Annual Passholder discount, Guests who book this offer must present a valid Annual Pass and photo ID upon check-in.
We are hopeful that continued discounts for the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser like this one will lead to future savings that all Guests visiting Walt Disney World will be able to take advantage of (especially if you are unable to purchase an Annual Pass where they are still not on sale for most Guests.)
