Disney is introducing a brand new vacation destination to Guests next year, and to get there, you’ll need to plan a magical vacation at sea!

Lighthouse Point, which will open to Guests in June 2024, is Disney Cruise Line’s new private island destination located on Eleuthera in the Bahamas. Disney Imagineers have been working with local officials and artists in the Bahamas to create a new experience for Guests that encompasses the quality of service Disney is known for while also immersing cruisers in the art, culture, and natural world of Eleuthera.

Lighthouse Point is a 240-acre island that has been in development for several years now, featuring white-sand beaches (for the whole family and an adults-only area), and activities on and off the water for Guests of all ages. With its focus on art and culture, nature trails, cabana rentals, dining locations, and more, Lighthouse Point is sure to join the ranks of Castaway Cay, Disney’s other private island, in terms of reasons Guests book with Disney over other cruise lines.

Ready to visit Lighthouse Point for yourself? Disney just revealed the details of the first sailings with stops on the island, and the inaugural sailing specifically is set to be extra magical.

Disney Cruise Line’s inaugural cruise to Lighthouse Point will be the June 8, 2024, sailing aboard the Disney Fantasy. Guests on this sailing will be the first to experience the breathtaking beaches, amenities, and activities exclusive to Disney’s new destination on Eleuthera.

The inaugural cruise will depart out of Port Canaveral, Florida (so you can easy combine the cruise with a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort if you are lucky enough to be on the first sailing!). But that isn’t the most exciting part of the inaugural sail- This cruise is unlike any other Disney has offered before as it includes two stops at Lighthouse point and a stop at Disney’s Castaway Cay.

Later cruises to Lighthouse Point will take place aboard the Disney Magic which departs out of Fort Lauderdale. The itineraries for these sailings will include three, four, and five-night cruises to the Bahamas and Caribbean, with most trips alternating between Lighthouse Point and Castaway Cay, and five sailings stopping at both island locales.

Next year, Disney Cruise Line will offer one much longer cruise with a stop at Lighthouse Point as well. The Disney Fantasy has a 10-night southern Caribbean itinerary scheduled in 2024 that includes stops at Lighthouse Point and Castaway Cay as well as Antigua, St. Lucia, Dominica, and Tortola.

Disney also noted that a three-night preview cruise aboard the Disney Magic will depart out of Fort Lauderdale on June 6, and while not the official inaugural cruise, this sailing will include a sneak peek of Lighthouse Point.

Disney’s newest ship, the Disney Wish, does not have itineraries in the works with stops at Lighthouse Point as of this writing, but this could always change in years to come. Along with the Wish which launched in July 2022, Disney has two additional ships in the works, the Disney Treasure, and one more ship that has yet to be named.

Bookings for sails to Lighthouse Point open soon on March 30, 2023. Find complete information to plan your next Disney Cruise Line vacation on DisneyCruiseLine.com or by speaking to your Disney travel agent.
