A friendly armadillo gave Magic Kingdom Guests quite the holiday surprise recently at the Walt Disney World Resort!
It seems everyone wants to visit Walt Disney World for the Holidays, even the animals of Orlando! In fact, from Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party to the International Festival of Holidays in EPCOT, there’s Christmas magic in store for all this year across the Walt Disney World Resort. Of course, even the wildlife wants in on the celebration!

Of course, we’ve seen plenty of fanfare for the Ducks, Squirrels, and even Cats of Disneyland, wild animals who call the theme park locations their home and are both revered by Guests and protected by special Cast Members. In addition to wildlife, Disney also employs and cares for a number of domesticated animals like those in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and the many horses used on Main Street, U.S.A.
Now, could the “Armadillos of Disney World” be next?

Twitter user Ethan, or @ThatDisneyBoi, shared an image recently that captured the armadillo as he or she crossed through the Magic Kingdom via the Fantasyland Bridge:

Plus, delighted Guests in the background react to the little mammal in surprise and smile, making room for it to pass. Disney fans took to the post’s replies to share humorous and light-hearted commentary about what the sweet armadillo was doing and where it was headed.
For example, one user replied “He’s just heading to clock in for his shift he’s not bothering anybody.” Next, others speculated that the animal had “a Lightning Lane for Haunted Mansion” or wanted to “scope out a spot for fireworks.” Then, another added that Ethan had truly spotted the “Holiday Armadillo,” referencing the hilarious scene from Friends (1994) where Ross dresses up in the mammal costume to deliver presents to Ben as no Santa suits were available.
Then, a follow-up Tweet revealed other Guests had seen the armadillo too, only Walt Disney World Cast Members to eventually corral the critter safely out of the Guests’ footpath:
