Concept Art Revealed for the Newest Restaurant Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

A new dining experience is in the work along Disney’s BoardWalk and it looks incredible!

The new location will provide some exciting options for Guests staying at the EPCOT Resort Area (as well as those just visiting to spend some time on the BoardWalk) and it will finally fill the void of a certain type of experience that Disney World has been missing for nearly three years.

The new dining space on Disney’s BoardWalk will one day be home to the Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers, which when it opens in 2023 will have replaced the space on the end of the BoardWalk formerly occupied by the ESPN Club restaurant.

The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers will add several new elements to the current dining scene at Disney’s BoardWalk, including both sweet and savory options along with afternoon tea. For several years, traditional afternoon tea was a fan-favorite experience at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The Garden View Tea Room has remained closed since the onset of the pandemic, however, leaving a void in this type of experience that will soon be filled when the Cake Bake Shop opens in 2023.

A first look at the newest concept art of the Cake Bake Shop was shared on the location’s official Instagram account, and it looks like it will be a gorgeous addition to this end of Disney’s BoardWalk. The restaurant’s pastel color palette will surely brighten up the area offering an inviting storefront for Guests to stop in for something sweet or for afternoon tea.

Disney has not yet confirmed an official opening date for the Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers, but construction at the site is certainly progressing and we will continue to monitor updates on the BoardWalk’s newest restaurant.

For now, be sure to check out the BoardWalk Bakery, another new spot on the BoardWalk that opened this summer, offering desserts and savory options like Reuben sandwiches and Italian subs. We will be back with additional updates on the Cake Bake Shop as more information is revealed here on Disney Tips.
