Capturing your Walt Disney World vacation memories is a must during any trip to “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” and with several different photo packages available, it’s easier than ever.

Stopping for a photo with Disney’s PhotoPass photographers is the easiest way to ensure that everyone gets in the picture at Walt Disney World. Whether you purchase just one family photo for the whole trip, or you pre-book Memory Maker to save on as many photo downloads as you’d like.

Along with specialized portrait sessions, or the option to go with a one-day Memory Maker rather than booking for your entire trip, Disney offers “Capture Your Moment” photo sessions around the theme parks. And the Magic Kingdom’s just received some exciting upgrades.

Disney’s Capture Your Moment packages include 20-minute sessions with a Disney PhotoPass photographer, allowing you much more variety, poses, and locations to snap some incredible family photos. The packages are available in all four theme parks, and new locations were just added to Capture Your Moment at Magic Kingdom Park.

If you have experienced a Capture Your Moment session in the Magic Kingdom in years past, you may have taken photos along Main Street, U.S.A., and in front of (and all around) Cinderella Castle. These might be the most iconic locations in the Park, but some of the new spots added to the sessions could have you ready to book your next photo shoot.

The Disney Parks Blog just confirmed that Capture Your Moment will also be available in Fantasyland beginning very soon, on May 1, 2023.

According to Disney’s official announcement, new locations in Fantasyland will include:

Cinderella Castle, Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, Rapunzel’s tower, Prince Eric’s castle, Storybook Circus, Belle and Maurice’s cottage, outside Beast’s castle, around the Mad Tea Party, and so much more.

Along with all of the above, it might be possible (depending on timing) to venture beyond Fantasyland and take some photos near the Haunted Mansion or other locations in Liberty Square. If you are interested in any additional locations, be sure to ask your photographer. Everything is dependent on the time limit for these photo shoots, but if additional locales are possible they will certainly make it happen for you.

How do Capture Your Moment photo shoots work?

Capture Your Moment photo shoots give you 20 minutes with a designated Disney PhotoPass photographer with a guarantee of visiting at least one location at a Disney Park, in this case, the Magic Kingdom.

One session costs $99, but can include up to eight Guests. Reservations are available online through Disney’s official website (note: the new sessions around Fantasyland will be available to book beginning April 24, 2023, but reservations can typically be made 60 days in advance.) You may luck out and find same-day reservations in the My Disney Experience app, but we recommend booking early just to be safe.

Another tip you will want to know is that photos are not included in the cost of a Capture Your Moment session. The $99 booking is for the photography session, but photos would be an additional purchase. The photos will be shared via the My Disney Experience app/website, though, so if you have Memory Maker, Memory Maker One Day, or PhotoPass downloads as an add-on to your Annual Pass, you will be able to download all of the photos at no cost. Otherwise, you can purchase Memory Maker after your session (though it is less expensive to purchase in advance) or simply select individual photos to purchase.

Especially given the new photo spots in Fantasyland, Guests with little ones visiting Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique may be particularly interested in the experience. If this applies to you, be sure to book your photo session at least two hours after your start time at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique so that you are able to make it to both reservations on time.

Check-in is at Sir Mickey’s, one of the shops behind Cinderella Castle, when you’re ready to go! In the meantime, learn more about the new Capture Your Moment locations and book your photo shoot beginning April 24, here.
