Disney World Reveals New Costumes for Cast Members in Every Park

At the Walt Disney World Resort, everything Guests see is part of the show. The show includes not only all of the sights, sounds, characters, and attractions around each Disney Park but also the Cast Members who take on their own roles in the show to create happiness every day.

Cast Member costumes are an important part of keeping immersive experiences, well, immersive. As a result, each Cast Member is dressed up in an outfit that makes sense for wherever they are working.

For some Disney Cast Members, costumes can span all four theme parks and every land within one Park, meaning they need to be able to fit within multiple themes and settings (think custodial or Disney PhotoPass Cast Members.) This doesn’t mean they can’t be changed up once in a while, and that’s exactly what Disney has done with these new green costumes.

The Disney Parks Blog shared that starting tomorrow, February 1, 2023, Disney PhotoPass Cast Members will be sporting new green (as in color and in that they are eco-friendly) costumes.

The new costume features fabrics made from recycled material in both the shirts themselves but even in the Disney PhotoPass logo that is stitched onto the sleeve.

Josh, Costume Designer for Disney Live Entertainment, noted, “Sustainability and environmental consciousness are major focuses of all design work for cast member costumes. We’re always looking for new practices and technologies that go the extra mile towards reducing our environmental footprint.”

The new costumes not only help the environment and make it easier for Guests to spot Disney PhotoPass photographers while touring the theme parks, but they are also sure to provide more comfortable attire for the Cast Members who wear them. The new fabric was specially designed for Central Florida’s humid weather conditions and will help control moisture and provide protection from the sun.

We love the new look and can’t wait to see them next time we visit the theme parks!
