Disney Tips Your Guide To A Great Disney Vacation
Fantasmic! is back at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! The beloved Walt Disney World nighttime spectacular has been suspended since the Parks and Resorts closed at the onset of the pandemic in the beginning of 2020, with fans anxiously awaiting its return since it was announced that the show would reopen this year.
Cast Member and media previews are currently underway with Fantasmic! set to officially reopen to all Guests on November 3, 2022. During its initial performance, Cast Members were able to get a first look at refreshed scenes from the original 1998 production along with new sequences just added to the show, and their reactions say all you need to know…

As Cast Members gathered for the first show, the audience of some of Disney World’s most passionate fans were impressed with new show scenes featuring characters like Moana, Mulan, and Elsa, along with a revamped Aladdin (1992) scene.
Fans took to social media after seeing the show to share their thoughts, with many loving the inclusion of Frozen II featuring “Show Yourself”:

Of course, an audience full of Cast Members was prepared to show their support for the show’s performers and nearly every scene was met with matching energy from the crowd.

The first performance of Fantasmic! even culminated in a standing ovation, captured on video by @WaybrightAdam:

While the audience reception to Fantasmic!’s return to Hollywood Studios has been largely positive, there are some Guests who have noted some areas of the show they either miss from the original, or wish were further improved. @jkecollins for instance says, “#Fantasmic deserved a better upgrade than this. Not even new fountains”

As for our thoughts? From what we’ve seen so far, this version of Fantasmic! does look like an exciting upgrade over the original show. We are excited to see new scenes with favorite characters not showcased in past versions of the show, and we simply cannot wait to see Sorcerer Mickey return once again.

Without the dining package, we recommend arriving early to the show you are hoping to see as pent-up demand following the production’s hiatus is sure to bring with it some added crowds.
