This Favorite Disney Springs Chef Just Opened a New Restaurant at Orlando International Airport

It may seem like a simple logistical step to going on vacation, but visiting the Orlando International Airport is actually quite the memorable experience for many Guests at the Walt Disney World Resort. (Just ask anyone who has ever tried their luck at winning a pair of socks inspired by the airport’s carpets on Twitter!)

The Orlando International Airport is home to several incredible restaurants and lots of amenities that make traveling in and out of Central Florida a breeze. And, Guests are now able to enjoy a meal at a new restaurant by one of Disney Springs’ favorite chefs.

The new location is called Sunshine Diner, by Chef Art Smith (of Disney Springs’ Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’). Smith’s Disney Springs location has been a popular spot for Guests visiting the theme parks and Resorts looking for delicious classic southern cooking. The restaurant has been a go-to for Guests since it opened in 2016, and today one of its most popular offerings is brunch (which we highly recommend!)

Chef Smith spoke with My News 13 about his latest restaurant opening saying, “It’s taken many years, but finally people from all over the world will get to taste us. Don’t expect anything like our other restaurants, it will be unique and part of my dream to revitalize the great American diner.”

Gotta Go Orlando notes that while the new restaurant will serve up classic diner specialties like meatloaf, sandwiches, and other comfort foods, Chef Smith promises a modern take on the cuisine along with several plant-based options.

Sunshine Diner is open daily from 5:00 a.m. to the time of the last flight departing from the terminal, and will offer both table-service and grab-and-go options for Guests at the airport.
