There are those that celebrate the spirit of the Christmas season all year round and those who don’t want anything to do with it until December! Disney fans tend to be part of the former group, with some even sporting their own Christmas trees for different holidays during the year.

In celebration of Christmas in July, let’s take a look at what goes into decorating Disneyland Resort during the holiday season. Disney Parks posted a TikTok video with a behind-the-scenes look at the ornaments and decorations used during this festive time of year.

Main Street, U.S.A. plays one of the star roles when it comes to displays at Disneyland Resort. Aside from the castle, and it’s a small world holiday, this spot is important because it’s one of the first elements Guests see when they enter the Parks.

It sets the mood for all the festivities to come! This popular piece of real estate dons a whopping 79,000 ornaments at Christmas time.

Wow, we knew there were a lot of decorations, but that is a huge number! From tiny ornaments, 30 mm big to gigantic bulbs 340 mm large, a variety of sizes are used to don the charming street.

Main Street, U.S.A. in and of itself uses 178,000 yards of ribbon, which Cast Members store in the warehouse in an organized fashion. These ribbons are used to form 800 bows which provide festive touches to the area.

Although Christmas decorations provide a warm and inviting atmosphere for the season, the lighting always steals the show. Guests can be heard gasping when Disneyland Park lights up at night, and I must admit, it always brought a tear to my eye.

It’s quite an emotional sight in person. To achieve the magnificent glow in the Parks, Cast Members use over 110,000 light bulbs and over 11,000 strands of mini lights.

We know Cast Members work long hours to create this magical winter wonderland for Disneyland Guests, and it is well worth the effort. As Disney Parks fans, some of our greatest memories come from Christmas time at the Parks!
