Dads Walt Disney World

Taking Dad to Walt Disney World this Father’s Day? As one of the world’s most visited destinations for kids and families, there are lots of things for dads to enjoy at “The Most Magical Place on Earth.” Whether you are looking to create magical memories for your partner and the kids, or you are taking your dad to Disney yourself, we have some ideas to help create the best trip ever for dads in Disney World.

Dads Who Love Golf

Did you know Walt Disney World is a popular destination for avid golfers? There are four championship-level golf courses on property: Disney’s Palm, Magnolia, Oak Trail, and Lake Buena Vista Golf Courses. Each course is operated by Arnold Palmer Golf Management, and lessons are even available if Dad or the kids are new to golf.

For something different, Disney also has a FootGolf course. If you have never played FootGolf, it is sort of a combination between soccer and golf, and it can  be lots of fun for something to do together outside of the theme parks.

Beer Enthusiasts

BaseLine Tap House Disney's Hollywood Studios

If you are looking to treat Dad with a beer on Father’s Day, look no further than BaseLine Tap House at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Grab an oversized pretzel or share a charcuterie board and order Dad a beer flight with his choice of California brews.

In EPCOT’s World Showcase, Rose and Crown Pub in the UK Pavilion has an extensive British beer list, and Biergarten can be the ultimate lunch or dinner experience for those looking to incorporate beer into a day out with Dad. At Biergarten, located in the Germany pavilion, Guests can order a full liter of beer to enjoy alongside authentic German cuisine and Oktoberfest-style live music.

For something more casual, City Works Eatery & Pour House in Disney Springs offers lots of beer on draft outside the theme parks, and Rix Sports Bar & Grill at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort will give Dad a classic sports bar experience without leaving Disney World.

For the dad who loves to shop, a Disney vacation has endless options! Disney Springs features a number of retailers, ranging from everyday clothing and gifts to designers and specialty items including Chapel Hats, Oakley, Sperry, and more. Many of the designers featured around Walt Disney World have Disney-inspired takes on their styles, like Tommy Bahama for instance, which offers shirts with Disney characters at the Disney Springs shop and select Disney Resorts.

The World of Disney Store in Disney Springs is one of the best places to shop for casual Disney apparel for Dad, and you can find lots of unique clothing items for the whole family at Disney Resort gift shops, too.

Shopping on a budget? Check out Uniqlo in Disney Springs. This massive store offers Disney tees, hoodies, and accessories with some unique designs for much more affordable prices than you will find in any Disney or designer shop.

Foodie Fathers

Walt Disney World is certainly a foodie’s paradise, so Dad should have no problem finding delicious eats wherever he goes. Of course, if you are able to plan your trip during the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, you will be able to taste your way around the park, but there are incredible dining options wherever you look.

EPCOT is often a go-to for foodies, but don’t sleep on Disney’s Animal Kingdom. From the park’s signature restaurant, Tiffins, to quick-service locations like Satu’li Canteen and Flame Tree Barbecue, this Disney Park is a foodie destination in its own right.

And, Disney Springs has a number of restaurants every foodie should try, including Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ for classic Southern cuisine with a modern twist, Morimoto Asia for inspired takes on Pan-Asian eats, and The BOATHOUSE for the freshest seafood and largest raw bar selection in Central Florida.

Dads Who Fish

It might not be the first thing to come to mind when you think of a Disney vacation, but there is no shortage of fishing opportunities at Walt Disney World.

Guided bass fishing excursions are available from most deluxe Disney Resorts with marinas for catch and release fishing on Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake by the Magic Kingdom, and Crescent Lake by EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

For something a little more old-fashioned, cane-pole fishing is also available at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort. (And if you decide to fish from Port Orleans, you’ll be able to end the trip with some Mickey-shaped beignets, or take the boat to Disney Springs.)

This list is only the beginning of the ways you can celebrate Dad at Walt Disney World. With so much to see and do at Disney Parks, Resorts, and at Disney Springs, Dad will never get bored at Disney World. Happy Father’s Day!
