The Next Live-Action Remake
Although release dates can change, the next live-action princess film on the list is Snow White (2024), planned to hit cinemas on March 22 next year. While Disney chose to release some of their live-action remakes, such as Pinocchio (2022), Peter Pan & Wendy (2023), and Lady and the Tramp (2019) on Disney Plus, Snow White (2024) will receive a theatrical release.
Although a live-action remake of the classic 1937 film that paved the way for Walt Disney Studios, it will receive a few updates from the original animated feature. These changes include the removal of “Seven Dwarfs” in the title and a new love-interest character named Jonathan that replaces the famous Prince.
The film will be directed by Marc Webb, whose body of work includes 500 Days of Summer (2009), The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014).

Who’s Starring in the Movie?
The titular character of Snow White will be played by Golden Globe winner Rachel Zegler who starred as Maria in West Side Story (2021).
Gal Gidot of DCU Wonder Woman fame is slated to play the Evil Queen, one of Disney’s most iconic villains.
Another confirmed casting is Martin Klebba as Grumpy. The actor is most famously known for his work as Marty in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and Randal on the TV show Scrubs.

The love interest of Snow White, known as Jonathan, will be played by Andrew Burnap. He is best known for his work as Phil in WeCrashed (2022) and Floyd in The Chaperone (2018).
Other actors tied to the film include Dujunna Gift and Colin Michael Carmichael.
Disney live-action remakes are no stranger to controversy. Many have criticized Walt Disney Studios for the constant string of remakes instead of creating new stories and characters. In addition, there is always pushback with any film remake or adaptation (be it Disney or otherwise). Many fans of the original pick apart any changes to the story or characters, while others love to compare and contrast it against the original.
However, Snow White (2024) turns out, hopefully, it will not meet the same level of criticism as The Little Mermaid (2023) has received.
