Yesterday, Disney shared a notice to Facebook, warning Magic Kingdom‘s neighbors of some late-night fireworks testing starting Saturday, November 12, and lasting through Monday, November 14. The notice reads,

Tonight through Nov. 14, we will be launching fireworks at Magic Kingdom Park between 11:30 p.m. and approximately 2 a.m. We apologize to our neighbors and Guests for this late-night inconvenience.

Historically, Disney World has specifically waited until after the parks have closed to test fireworks and run parade rehearsals to avoid ruining that one-of-a-kind Disney magic.

That being said, there could be a possibility of the Disney fireworks spectacular, “Happy Ever After” returning to the parks soon. However, it seems like it’s currently little too early for Guests to get their hopes up.

During the D23 Expo in September, the Chairmen of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products roused the crowd by announcing that the fireworks show would be returning in 2023. But Walt Disney World has given no indication that the 50th-anniversary fireworks show, “Disney Enchantment,” would not be finishing its run until the end of March 2023.

Bearing all of this in mind, Disney fans have begun speculating that this late-night testing may be for the seasonal fireworks show that will run during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Especially knowing that The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration annual Christmas special will be airing on ABC soon (November 27 at 8:00 p.m., EST).

Speculations aside, nothing has been confirmed. DisneyTips will continue to update fans on the latest Disney news on the situation regarding these iconic fireworks shows.
