Video Shows Firework Launch Platform on Fire After EPCOT Harmonious

Walt Disney World‘s EPCOT is full of amazing things to see and do, such as the classic attraction Spaceship Earth, the brand new attraction Cosmic Rewind, or the largest nighttime spectacular created for EPCOT, Harmonious.

Harmonious is a stunning example of that one-of-a-kind Walt Disney Imagineering and magic that makes Walt Disney World so special. But last night, things did not go according to plan during the show, and multiple Guests reported a huge fire on one of the platforms after the show.

Harmonious is one of the most ambitious (and most expensive) nighttime spectaculars the theme Park has ever seen, and the display is nothing short of extraordinary.

It was created for The World’s Most Magical Celebration to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World, and it was designed by an incredibly diverse group 240 artists who come from all over the world.

The use of some of the most iconic and classic Disney music, characters, and visuals all come together to create a stunning show over the World Showcase Lagoon. The 360-degree view means that no two views are unique, and Guests can watch from anywhere in the World Showcase with a beautiful view.

Usually, the results are magical, but last night, the nighttime spectacular was memorable for a different reason.

In these videos, you can see the giant fire and a billowing plume of smoke coming from one of the fireworks launch platforms over the World Showcase Lagoon.

Another view helps to show just how massive the fire was. In this video, you can hear the faint sound of the ambient Disney music that plays throughout the theme Park as the fire rages on.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time that a performance of Harmonious has resulted in a fire starting at the Disney Park. But fortunately, the latest news states that the fire was contained only to the fireworks launch platform and nobody was hurt.
