Walt Disney World’s new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge will open to guests in late 2025, the company confirmed in a new update. According to Wdwmagic, this exciting and immersive new experience will take the lore from the classic dark ride and expand it, placing guests in the middle of their own Pirates of the Caribbean adventure.
The new lounge will serve as a respite to guests visiting the Magic Kingdom and will be located next to the entrance of Pirates of the Caribbean.
Disney advertises this new loungs as being a haven for “pirate-kind, big and small.”

Disney originally announced this new Pirates of the Caribbean lounge at its Destination D23 event in 2023, an announcement that came as quite a surprise. This “first of its kind” lounge will work in tandem with the actual dark ride, making for a detail-rich area for guests to explore in Adventureland.
The new Pirates of the Caribbean lounge replaces the former Pirates League makeover experience space, which was located next to the dark ride’s exit.
Over the last several months, guests have been able to watch as construction on the lounge picked up, with walls, scaffolding, and other building materials now covering the space.
Tortuga Tavern, once a quick-service location, was turned into a temporary gift shop earlier this year. The Captain Jack Sparrow meet and greet was also moved to make way for the new lounge coming to Adventureland.
While late 2025 is still quite vague, guests are expected to hear more about Walt Disney World’s new Pirates of the Caribbean lounge next year, a year shaping up to be an incredibly important one for the Orlando, Florida resort.
