Disney fans have long awaited World of Frozen and Marvel worlds to have a more significant presence in the theme parks.

Of course, overseas at international Disneyland Parks, we have seen Hong Kong Disneyland Resort develop a Frozen-themed land, and Avengers take over attractions such as the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris.

But what about here in the United States? Could we see World of Frozen at Disneyland Park or Wakanda come to Walt Disney World Resort?

World of Frozen

In Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, we have seen Disney develop an immersive new area set in the world of Frozen. It includes an updated version of Frozen Ever After, a Frozen-themed roller coaster called Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, Playhouse in the Woods, as well as stores and dining options themed to Arendelle and the popular movie franchise.

The themed area in Hong Kong Disneyland will also have icons like Arendelle Castle, and the clock tower where Anna and Prince Hans sang “Love is an Open Door.”

Similarly, Tokyo DisneySea is constructing a new area called Fantasy Springs that will include the worlds of Frozen, Tangled, and Peter Pan.

Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris is also scheduled to be getting a Frozen-themed area as well.

But in terms of Frozen in the United States, there is Frozen Ever After at EPCOT and For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. But, according to Josh D’Amaro, we may see World of Frozen at Disneyland Resort.

However, the Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts didn’t provide specific details on which theme park we could see it added to or if it is part of the proposed Disneyland Forward project.

Wakanda Forever

Marvel properties and Avengers have been popping up across multiple Disney parks and resorts worldwide. But a Wakanda-themed land (or ride) is something we have yet to see.

Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man, and Spider-Man are familiar faces you can see when visiting Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando or Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. However, Black Panther (aside from a few meet and greets) has yet to receive his own full-fledged attraction.

Unlike Josh D’Amaro’s Frozen reference, he didn’t mention a specific resort or place for a Wakanda-themed property. Therefore, it stands to reason we could even see it pop up in EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, or Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

And Coco, Too

Finally, Josh D’Amaro did include “The world of Coco” as one of the many properties “waiting to be explored.” Although the Walt Disney Company has teased previously the idea of a Coco attraction coming to Magic Kingdom Park and/or Disney’s Animal Kingdom, there has still yet to be an official announcement.

Whether the Walt Disney Company makes good on all these concepts – or even just one – we’ll have to wait and see.

About Steven Wilk

Steven has a complicated relationship with Disney. As a child, he visited Walt Disney World every few years with his family. But he never understood why kids his age (and older) were so scared of Snow White or Alien Encounter. He is a former participant of the Disney College Program (left early…long story), and he also previously worked in Children’s publishing, where he adapted multiple Disney movies and TV shows. He has many controversial opinions about Disney…like having a positive view of Michael Eisner, believing Return of the Jedi is superior to The Empire Strikes Back, and that Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge should have never been built (at least not at Hollywood Studios). Every year for the past two decades, Steven has visited either Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Aulani or went on a Disney Cruise. He’s happy to share any and all knowledge of the Disney destinations (and he likes using parenthesis a lot…as well as ellipses…)
