Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort have announced changes on the way at both Disney Resorts. Now, the line-skipping upcharge service known as Disney Genie+ (formerly the complimentary FastPass+ system) will have pricing that will “vary by date.”
We previously shared the news that reports were flooding in that Disney Genie+ at Disneyland Resort has increased from $20 to $25 overnight. Now, we’re learning there will also be a price impact at Walt Disney World Resort.

It seems like instead of budgeting $15 per person per day at Walt Disney World Resort, Guests can now expect to spend between $15 and $22 per day.
@ScottGustin took to social media to share, “NEW: Genie+ prices will now *vary by date* at Walt Disney World and Disneyland. WDW: G+ price now varies by date (was $15+ tax). Example: In Oct., G+ will range $15-$22. DL: G+ ticket add-on now $25 per day (was $20). *Same-day G+ will be variably priced based on date.*”
@ScottGustin further notes, “Walt Disney World: Genie+ is priced based on the date a guest is visiting (similar to how theme park tickets are sold). The pricing examples for October ($15 on less busy dates, $22 more busy dates) are ONLY for this month. G+ pricing will continue to vary based on date.”

Unfortunately, this Disney Park adjustment only seems to make planning and budgeting to use Disney Genie+ more complicated as now Guests will want to check what Disney Genie+ pricing is before making the decision to purchase it.
It’s also important to note that the $15 – $22 at Walt Disney World Resort is noted through October. With the sticker price removed, this means Guests could see Disney Genie+ go even higher than $22 as the winter and holiday events unfold.
As always, we will be sure to keep Disney Tips readers updated as we learn more about this change to Disney Genie+.
