Disney Genie+ Reaches Its Lowest Price in Months

Genie+

Disney Genie+, the paid alternative to FastPass+ launched at Walt Disney World with the Resort’s 50th-anniversary celebrations in 2021. Since the system debuted, Genie+ has undergone several major changes with the most notable being its dynamic price structure. We’ve been following pricing trends for Genie+, and have noticed that the cost of the service has continued to drop after spring break.

To clear up any confusion, there are three different systems within the Genie+ section of the My Disney Experience app. The free version of Disney Genie+ is basically your tip board, where you will find current wait times and “customized” recommendations for how you would spend your day in the Parks.

Genie+ is a service similar to FastPass+; however, it comes at an added cost and can only be purchased on the day of your visit. The other tier is Individual Lightning Lanes, which come at their own added costs for select attractions that are not included in Genie+. Currently, Individual Lightning Lane attractions include Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and TRON Lightcycle / Run at the Magic Kingdom, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Avatar – Flight of Passage at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Disney Genie+ reached its highest price yet earlier this year during Spring Break when Guests saw the cost of the service soar to $35 per person per day. In the weeks since Spring Break and the Easter holiday weekend, Genie+ dropped to $25 and then $20.

As of this writing, Genie+ has dropped below $20 for the first time since February 4, 2023, with a price of $18 per person per day, as noted in the My Disney Experience app.

The dynamic pricing structure of Genie+ directly correlates to the crowd levels in the Park, so while the service is certainly more affordable as it trends down in price, it is worth noting that you may not need Genie+ if the crowd levels are actually that low.

What to know about Disney Genie+

While we love seeing the price of Genie+ continue to increase, it is worth pointing out that you will not be able to confirm the cost of the service until the day you plan to use it at the Parks. As such, if you are trying to estimate a budget for your trip, you may want to overestimate and consider the cost of your day if Genie+ turns out to be at one of its higher price points.

Guests can use both Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes, or one or the other. You can book your next Genie+ or Lightning Lane (limited to two per day) either after you experience your first attraction or two hours after you booked, whichever comes first.

Whether or not you opt to purchase Genie+ or Individual Lightning Lanes, remember to keep your phone charged and keep an eye on the free Genie’s tip board in the My Disney Experience app. Knowing wait times around the Park and availability for Genie+ and Lightning Lane can help you make the most of your trip.

We hope to report back with news of continued pricing under $20 for Genie+, but will keep you updated with all of the latest news either way here on Disney Tips.
